1 FECE ancora un Altare di rame, di lunghezza di venti cubiti, e di larghezza di venti cubiti, e d’altezza di dieci cubiti.

2 Fece ancora il Mar di getto, che avea dieci cubiti da una parte dell’orlo all’altra; ed era tondo d’ogn’intorno, ed era alto cinque cubiti; ed un filo di trenta cubiti lo circondava d’ogn’intorno.

3 E disotto di quell’orlo vi erano delle figure di buoi d’ogn’intorno, che circondavano il Mare d’ogn’intorno, dieci per ciascun cubito; vi erano due ordini di figure di questi buoi, gettati insieme col Mare.

4 Esso era posto sopra dodici buoi, de’ quali tre erano volti verso Settentrione, tre verso Occidente, tre verso Mezzodì, e tre verso Oriente; ed il Mare era disopra essi; e tutte le parti di dietro di que’ buoi erano volte indentro.

5 E la spessezza di esso era di un palmo, e l’orlo suo era fatto a guisa dell’orlo di una tazza, a fior di giglio; ed essendo pieno, conteneva tremila bati.

6 Fece ancora dieci Conche, e ne pose cinque a man destra, e cinque a sinistra, per servirsene a lavare; vi si lavava ciò che si apparecchiava per gli olocausti; ma il Mare era per i sacerdoti, per lavarsi.

7 Fece eziandio dieci Candellieri d’oro, secondo l’ordine loro, e li pose nel Tempio, cinque a man destra, e cinque a sinistra.

8 Fece anche dieci Tavole, le quali pose nel Tempio, cinque a man destra, e cinque a sinistra; fece ancora cento bacini d’oro.

9 Fece ancora il Cortile de’ sacerdoti, ed il Cortile grande, e gli usci de’ Cortili, i quali coperse di rame.

10 E pose il Mare dal lato destro, verso Oriente, dalla parte meridionale.

11 Ed Huram fece le caldaie, le palette, ed i bacini; e compiè di fare il lavorio che facea al re Salomone per la Casa di Dio:

12 le due colonne, e i due vasi de’ capitelli, in cima delle colonne; e le due reti, da coprire i due vasi de’ capitelli ch’erano in cima delle colonne;

13 e le quattrocento melegrane per le due reti, a due ordini di melegrane per ciascuna rete, da coprire i due vasi de’ capitelli, ch’erano in cima delle colonne.

14 Fece ancora i basamenti, e le conche per mettere sopra i basamenti;

15 il Mare, ch’era unico; e i dodici buoi, ch’erano sotto esso.

16 Ed Huram, suo padre, fece al re Salomone, per la Casa del Signore, le caldaie, e le palette, e le forcelle, e tutte le altre masserizie pertinenti a quelle, di rame pulito.

17 Il re fece gittar queste cose nella pianura del Giordano, in terra argillosa, fra Succot e Sereda.

18 E Salomone fece tutti questi arredi in grandissimo numero; conciossiachè non si potesse rinvenire il peso del rame.

19 Così Salomone fece tutti gli arredi pertinenti alla Casa di Dio; e fece d’oro fino l’Altar d’oro, e le Tavole, sopra le quali si ponevano i pani di presenza;

20 ed i Candellieri, con le lor lampane, per restare accese davanti all’Oracolo, secondo ch’era ordinato.

21 Fece ancora le bocce, e le lampane, e gli smoccolatoi, d’oro, ch’era oro finissimo.

22 Fece ancora i rampini, e i bacini, e le coppe, e i turiboli, d’oro fino. E quant’è alle porte della Casa, gli usci di dentro, per entrar nel luogo Santissimo, e gli usci della Casa, per entrar nel Tempio, erano d’oro.

1 King Solomon had a bronze altar made, which was 30 feet square and 15 feet high.

2 He also made a round tank of bronze, 7 1/2 feet deep, 15 feet in diameter, and 45 feet in circumference.

3 All around the outer edge of the rim of the tank were two rows of decorations, one above the other. The decorations were in the shape of bulls, which had been cast all in one piece with the rest of the tank.

4 The tank rested on the backs of twelve bronze bulls that faced outward, three facing in each direction.

5 The sides of the tank were 3 inches thick. Its rim was like the rim of a cup, curving outward like the petals of a flower. The tank held about 15,000 gallons.

6 They also made ten basins, five to be placed on the south side of the Temple and five on the north side. They were to be used to rinse the parts of the animals that were burned as sacrifices. The water in the large tank was for the priests to use for washing.

7 They made ten gold lampstands according to the usual pattern, and ten tables, and placed them in the main room of the Temple, five lampstands and five tables on each side. They also made a hundred gold bowls.

9 They made an inner courtyard for the priests, and also an outer courtyard. The doors in the gates between the courtyards were covered with bronze.

10 The tank was placed near the southeast corner of the Temple.

11 Huram also made pots, shovels, and bowls. He completed all the objects that he had promised King Solomon he would make for the Temple: The two columns The two bowl-shaped capitals on top of the columns The design of interwoven chains on each capital The 400 bronze pomegranates arranged in two rows around the design of each capital The ten carts The ten basins The tank The twelve bulls supporting the tank The pots, shovels, and forks Huram the master metalworker made all these objects out of polished bronze, as King Solomon had commanded, for use in the Temple of the Lord.

17 The king had them all made in the foundry between Sukkoth and Zeredah in the Jordan Valley.

18 So many objects were made that no one determined the total weight of the bronze used.

19 King Solomon also had gold furnishings made for the Temple: the altar and the tables for the bread offered to God;

20 the lampstands and the lamps of fine gold that were to burn in front of the Most Holy Place, according to plan;

21 the flower decorations, the lamps, and the tongs;

22 the lamp snuffers, the bowls, the dishes for incense, and the pans used for carrying live coals. All these objects were made of pure gold. The outer doors of the Temple and the doors to the Most Holy Place were overlaid with gold.
