1 Y habló David al SEÑOR las palabras de este cántico, el día que el SEÑOR le había librado de la mano de todos sus enemigos, y de la mano de Saúl

1 David sang to the LORD the words of this song when the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul.

2 Y dijo: El SEÑOR es mi peña, y mi fortaleza, y mi libertador

2 He said: “The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;

3 Dios es mi Fuerte, en él confiaré; mi escudo, y el cuerno de mi salud; mi defensa, y mi refugio; mi salvador, que me librarás de violencia

3 my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior— from violent people you save me.

4 Invocaré al SEÑOR, digno de ser loado. Y seré salvo de mis enemigos

4 “I called to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and have been saved from my enemies.

5 Cuando me cercaron ondas de muerte, y deluvio de Belial me asombró

5 The waves of death swirled about me; the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me.

6 cuando las cuerdas del Seol me ciñieron, y los lazos de muerte me tomaron descuidado

6 The cords of the grave coiled around me; the snares of death confronted me.

7 cuando tuve angustia, invoqué al SEÑOR, y clamé a mi Dios; y desde su templo él oyó mi voz; cuando mi clamor llegó a sus oídos

7 “In my distress I called to the LORD; I called out to my God. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came to his ears.

8 La tierra se removió, y tembló; los fundamentos de los cielos fueron movidos, y se quebrantaron, porque él se airó

8 The earth trembled and quaked, the foundations of the heavens shook; they trembled because he was angry.

9 Subió humo de sus narices, y de su boca fuego consumidor, por el cual se encendieron carbones

9 Smoke rose from his nostrils; consuming fire came from his mouth, burning coals blazed out of it.

10 Y bajó los cielos, y descendió; una oscuridad debajo de sus pies

10 He parted the heavens and came down; dark clouds were under his feet.

11 Subió sobre el querubín, y voló; se apareció sobre las alas del viento

11 He mounted the cherubim and flew; he soared on the wings of the wind.

12 Puso tinieblas alrededor de sí a modo de tabernáculos; aguas negras y espesas nubes

12 He made darkness his canopy around him— the dark rain clouds of the sky.

13 Del resplandor de su presencia se encendieron ascuas ardientes

13 Out of the brightness of his presence bolts of lightning blazed forth.

14 El SEÑOR tronó desde los cielos, y el Altísimo dio su voz

14 The LORD thundered from heaven; the voice of the Most High resounded.

15 arrojó saetas, y los desbarató; relampagueó, y los consumió

15 He shot his arrows and scattered the enemy, with great bolts of lightning he routed them.

16 Entonces aparecieron los manantiales del mar, y los fundamentos del mundo fueron descubiertos, a la reprensión del SEÑOR, al resoplido del aliento de su nariz

16 The valleys of the sea were exposed and the foundations of the earth laid bare at the rebuke of the LORD, at the blast of breath from his nostrils.

17 Extendió su mano de lo alto, y me arrebató, y me sacó de las aguas impetuosas

17 “He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters.

18 Me libró de fuertes enemigos, de aquellos que me aborrecían, los cuales eran más fuertes que yo

18 He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me.

19 Los cuales me tomaron descuidado en el día de mi calamidad; mas el SEÑOR fue mi bordón

19 They confronted me in the day of my disaster, but the LORD was my support.

20 Me sacó a anchura; me libró, porque había puesto su voluntad en mí

20 He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me.

21 Me pagó el SEÑOR conforme a mi justicia; y conforme a la limpieza de mis manos, me dio la paga

21 “The LORD has dealt with me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands he has rewarded me.

22 Porque yo guardé los caminos del SEÑOR; y no me aparté impíamente de mi Dios

22 For I have kept the ways of the LORD; I am not guilty of turning from my God.

23 Porque delante de mí tengo todas sus ordenanzas; y atento a sus fueros, no me retiraré de ellos

23 All his laws are before me; I have not turned away from his decrees.

24 Y fui perfecto para con él, y me guardé de mi iniquidad

24 I have been blameless before him and have kept myself from sin.

25 Y me pagó el SEÑOR conforme a mi justicia, y conforme a mi limpieza delante de sus ojos

25 The LORD has rewarded me according to my righteousness, according to my cleanness in his sight.

26 Con el misericordioso eres misericordioso, y con el valeroso y perfecto eres recto

26 “To the faithful you show yourself faithful, to the blameless you show yourself blameless,

27 con el limpio eres limpio, mas con el perverso eres adversario

27 to the pure you show yourself pure, but to the devious you show yourself shrewd.

28 Y tú salvas a los pobres de espíritu; mas tus ojos están sobre los altivos, para abatirlos

28 You save the humble, but your eyes are on the haughty to bring them low.

29 Porque tú eres mi lámpara, oh SEÑOR; el SEÑOR da luz a mis tinieblas

29 You, LORD, are my lamp; the LORD turns my darkness into light.

30 Porque en ti rompí escuadrones, y con mi Dios pasé las murallas

30 With your help I can advance against a troop ; with my God I can scale a wall.

31 Dios, perfecto su camino; la palabra del SEÑOR purificada, escudo es de todos los que en él confían

31 “As for God, his way is perfect: The LORD’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him.

32 Porque ¿qué Dios hay sino el SEÑOR? ¿O quién es fuerte sino nuestro Dios

32 For who is God besides the LORD? And who is the Rock except our God?

33 Dios es el que con virtud me corrobora, y el que despeja mi camino

33 It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure.

34 el que hace mis pies como de ciervas, y el que me asienta en mis alturas

34 He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; he causes me to stand on the heights.

35 el que enseña mis manos para la pelea, y da que con mis brazos quiebre el arco de bronce

35 He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze.

36 Tú me diste asimismo el escudo de tu salud, y tu mansedumbre me ha multiplicado

36 You make your saving help my shield; your help has made me great.

37 Tú ensanchaste mis pasos debajo de mí, para que no titubearan mis rodillas

37 You provide a broad path for my feet, so that my ankles do not give way.

38 Perseguí a mis enemigos, y los quebranté; y no me volví hasta que los acabé

38 “I pursued my enemies and crushed them; I did not turn back till they were destroyed.

39 Los consumí, y los herí, y no se levantaron; y cayeron debajo de mis pies

39 I crushed them completely, and they could not rise; they fell beneath my feet.

40 Me ceñiste de fortaleza para la batalla, y postraste debajo de mí los que contra mí se levantaron

40 You armed me with strength for battle; you humbled my adversaries before me.

41 Tú me diste la cerviz de mis enemigos, de mis aborrecedores, y que yo los talara

41 You made my enemies turn their backs in flight, and I destroyed my foes.

42 Miraron, y no hubo quien los librara; aun al SEÑOR, mas no les respondió

42 They cried for help, but there was no one to save them— to the LORD, but he did not answer.

43 Yo los quebranté como a polvo de la tierra; como a lodo de las plazas los desmenucé, y los disipé

43 I beat them as fine as the dust of the earth; I pounded and trampled them like mud in the streets.

44 Tú me libraste de contiendas de pueblos; tú me guardaste para que fuera cabeza de gentiles; pueblos que no conocía, me sirvieron

44 “You have delivered me from the attacks of the peoples; you have preserved me as the head of nations. People I did not know now serve me,

45 Los extraños temblaban ante mi mandamiento; apenas oían algo de mí me obedecían

45 foreigners cower before me; as soon as they hear of me, they obey me.

46 Los extraños desfallecían, y temblaban en sus encerramientos

46 They all lose heart; they come trembling from their strongholds.

47 Viva el SEÑOR, y sea bendita mi peña; sea ensalzado el Dios, que es la roca de mi salvación

47 “The LORD lives! Praise be to my Rock! Exalted be my God, the Rock, my Savior!

48 El Dios que me ha dado venganzas, y sujeta los pueblos debajo de mí

48 He is the God who avenges me, who puts the nations under me,

49 Que me saca de entre mis enemigos; tú me sacaste en alto de entre los que se levantaron contra mí; me libraste del varón de violencia

49 who sets me free from my enemies. You exalted me above my foes; from a violent man you rescued me.

50 Por tanto yo te confesaré entre los gentiles, oh SEÑOR, y cantaré a tu nombre

50 Therefore I will praise you, LORD, among the nations; I will sing the praises of your name.

51 El que engrandece la salud de su rey, y hace misericordia a su ungido David, y a su simiente, para siempre

51 “He gives his king great victories; he shows unfailing kindness to his anointed, to David and his descendants forever.”
