David again brought together all the able young men of Israel—thirty thousand.

He and all his men went to Baalah in Judah to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the Name, the name of the LORD Almighty, who is enthroned between the cherubim on the ark.

They set the ark of God on a new cart and brought it from the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill. Uzzah and Ahio, sons of Abinadab, were guiding the new cart

with the ark of God on it, and Ahio was walking in front of it.
5 David y todo el pueblo de Israel celebraban ante el Señor<br />, entonando canciones<br /> y tocando todo tipo de instrumentos musicales: liras, arpas, panderetas, castañuelas y címbalos.

David and all Israel were celebrating with all their might before the LORD, with castanets, harps, lyres, timbrels, sistrums and cymbals.
6 Cuando llegaron al campo de trillar de Nacón, los bueyes tropezaron, y Uza extendió la mano para sujetar el arca de Dios.

When they came to the threshing floor of Nakon, Uzzah reached out and took hold of the ark of God, because the oxen stumbled.
7 Entonces se encendió el enojo del Señor<br /> contra Uza, y Dios lo hirió de muerte debido a lo que hizo.<br /> Así fue como Uza murió allí mismo junto al arca de Dios.

The LORD’s anger burned against Uzzah because of his irreverent act; therefore God struck him down, and he died there beside the ark of God.
8 Entonces David se enojó porque la ira de Dios se había desatado contra Uza y llamó a ese lugar Fares-uza (que significa «desatarse contra Uza»), nombre que conserva hasta el día de hoy.

Then David was angry because the LORD’s wrath had broken out against Uzzah, and to this day that place is called Perez Uzzah.

David was afraid of the LORD that day and said, “How can the ark of the LORD ever come to me?”

He was not willing to take the ark of the LORD to be with him in the City of David. Instead, he took it to the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite.
11 El arca del Señor<br /> permaneció en la casa de Obed-edom por tres meses, y el Señor<br /> bendijo a Obed-edom y a los de su casa.

The ark of the LORD remained in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite for three months, and the LORD blessed him and his entire household.
12 Entonces le dijeron al rey David: «El Señor<br /> ha bendecido a los de la casa de Obed-edom y a todo lo que tiene a causa del arca de Dios». Luego David fue y llevó el arca de Dios de la casa de Obed-edom a la Ciudad de David con gran celebración.

Now King David was told, “The LORD has blessed the household of Obed-Edom and everything he has, because of the ark of God.” So David went to bring up the ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom to the City of David with rejoicing.
13 Cuando los hombres que llevaban el arca del Señor<br /> dieron apenas seis pasos, David sacrificó un toro y un ternero engordado.

When those who were carrying the ark of the LORD had taken six steps, he sacrificed a bull and a fattened calf.

Wearing a linen ephod, David was dancing before the LORD with all his might,
15 David y todo el pueblo trasladaron el arca del Señor<br /> entre gritos de alegría y toques de cuernos de carnero.

while he and all Israel were bringing up the ark of the LORD with shouts and the sound of trumpets.
16 Mical desprecia a David<br />Entonces, cuando el arca del Señor<br /> entraba a la Ciudad de David, Mical, hija de Saúl, se asomó por la ventana. Cuando vio que el rey David saltaba y danzaba ante el Señor<br />, se llenó de desprecio hacia él.

As the ark of the LORD was entering the City of David, Michal daughter of Saul watched from a window. And when she saw King David leaping and dancing before the LORD, she despised him in her heart.
17 Así que trasladaron el arca y la colocaron en su lugar dentro de la carpa especial que David le había preparado. David sacrificó al Señor<br /> ofrendas quemadas y ofrendas de paz.

They brought the ark of the LORD and set it in its place inside the tent that David had pitched for it, and David sacrificed burnt offerings and fellowship offerings before the LORD.
18 Cuando terminó de ofrecer los sacrificios, David bendijo al pueblo en el nombre del Señor<br /> de los Ejércitos Celestiales.

After he had finished sacrificing the burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD Almighty.
19 Después repartió a todos los israelitas que estaban allí reunidos, tanto hombres como mujeres, una hogaza de pan, un pastel de dátiles<br /> y un pastel de pasas de uva. Luego todos regresaron a su casa.

Then he gave a loaf of bread, a cake of dates and a cake of raisins to each person in the whole crowd of Israelites, both men and women. And all the people went to their homes.
20 Cuando David regresó a su hogar para bendecir a su propia familia, Mical, la hija de Saúl, salió a su encuentro y le dijo indignada:<br />—¡Qué distinguido se veía hoy el rey de Israel, exhibiéndose descaradamente delante de las sirvientas tal como lo haría cualquier persona vulgar!

When David returned home to bless his household, Michal daughter of Saul came out to meet him and said, “How the king of Israel has distinguished himself today, going around half-naked in full view of the slave girls of his servants as any vulgar fellow would!”
21 David le replicó a Mical:<br />—¡Estaba danzando delante del Señor<br />, quien me eligió por encima de tu padre y de su familia! Él me designó como el líder de Israel, el pueblo del Señor<br />, y de este modo celebro delante de él.

David said to Michal, “It was before the LORD, who chose me rather than your father or anyone from his house when he appointed me ruler over the LORD’s people Israel—I will celebrate before the LORD.
22 ¡Así es, y estoy dispuesto a quedar en ridículo e incluso a ser humillado ante mis propios ojos! Pero esas sirvientas que mencionaste, ¡de seguro seguirán pensando que soy distinguido!

I will become even more undignified than this, and I will be humiliated in my own eyes. But by these slave girls you spoke of, I will be held in honor.”
23 Y Mical, la hija de Saúl, nunca tuvo hijos en toda su vida.

And Michal daughter of Saul had no children to the day of her death.
