1 Furthermore brethren praye for vs yt the worde of god maye have fre passage and be gloryfied as it is with you:
1 As for other matters, brothers and sisters, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you.
2 and that we maye be delivered from vnresonable and evyll men. For all men have not fayth:
2 And pray that we may be delivered from wicked and evil people, for not everyone has faith.
3 but the lorde is faythfull which shall stablysshe you and kepe you from evyll.
3 But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.
4 Wehave confidence thorow the lorde to you warde that ye both do and will do that which we comaude you.
4 We have confidence in the Lord that you are doing and will continue to do the things we command.
5 And ye lorde gyde youre hertes vnto ye love of God and paciece of Christ.
5 May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.
6 We requyre you brethren in the name of oure lorde Iesu Christ yt ye with drawe youre selves from every brother that walketh inordinatly and not after the institucio which ye receaved of vs.
6 In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we command you, brothers and sisters, to keep away from every believer who is idle and disruptive and does not live according to the teaching you received from us.
7 Ye youre selves knowe how ye ought to folowe vs. For we behaved not oure selves inordinatly amonge you.
7 For you yourselves know how you ought to follow our example. We were not idle when we were with you,
8 Nether toke we breed of eny ma for nought: but wrought with laboure and travayle nyght and daye because we wolde not be grevous to eny of you:
8 nor did we eat anyone’s food without paying for it. On the contrary, we worked night and day, laboring and toiling so that we would not be a burden to any of you.
9 not but that we had auctoritie: but to make oure selves an insample vnto you to folowe vs.
9 We did this, not because we do not have the right to such help, but in order to offer ourselves as a model for you to imitate.
10 For when we were with you this we warned you of yt yf ther were eny which wolde not worke that ye same shuld not eate.
10 For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: “The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat.”
11 We have hearde saye no doute that ther are some which walke amonge you inordinatly and worke not at all but are besy bodies.
11 We hear that some among you are idle and disruptive. They are not busy; they are busybodies.
12 Them that are soche we commaunde and exhorte by oure lorde Iesu Christ that they worke with quyetnes and eate their awne breed.
12 Such people we command and urge in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and earn the food they eat.
13 Brethren be not wery in well doynge.
13 And as for you, brothers and sisters, never tire of doing what is good.
14 Yf eny man obey not oure sayinges sende vs worde of him by a letter: and have no copanie with him that he maye be ashamed.
14 Take special note of anyone who does not obey our instruction in this letter. Do not associate with them, in order that they may feel ashamed.
15 And count him not as an enemy: but warne him as a brother.
15 Yet do not regard them as an enemy, but warn them as you would a fellow believer.
16 The very lorde of peace geve you peace all wayes by all meanes. The lorde be with you all.
16 Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.
17 The salutacion of me Paul with myne awne honde. This is the token in all pistles. So I write.
17 I, Paul, write this greeting in my own hand, which is the distinguishing mark in all my letters. This is how I write.
18 The grace of oure lorde Iesus Christ be with you all Amen.
18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
