2 Corinthians 3:12-18

CEB 12 So, since we have such a hope, we act with great confidence. NRS 12 Since, then, we have such a hope, we act with great boldness, CEB 13 We aren't like Moses, who used to put a veil over his face so that the Israelites couldn't watch the end of what was fading away. NRS 13 not like Moses, who put a veil over his face to keep the people of Israel from gazing at the end of the glory that was being set aside. CEB 14 But their minds were closed. Right up to the present day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. The veil is not removed because it is taken away by Christ. NRS 14 But their minds were hardened. Indeed, to this very day, when they hear the reading of the old covenant, that same veil is still there, since only in Christ is it set aside. CEB 15 Even today, whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their hearts. NRS 15 Indeed, to this very day whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their minds; CEB 16 But whenever someone turns back to the Lord, the veil is removed. NRS 16 but when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. CEB 17 The Lord is the Spirit, and where the Lord's Spirit is, there is freedom. NRS 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. CEB 18 All of us are looking with unveiled faces at the glory of the Lord as if we were looking in a mirror. We are being transformed into that same image from one degree of glory to the next degree of glory. This comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. NRS 18 And all of us, with unveiled faces, seeing the glory of the Lord as though reflected in a mirror, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another; for this comes from the Lord, the Spirit.

2 Corinthians 4:1-2

CEB 1 This is why we don't get discouraged, given that we received this ministry in the same way that we received God's mercy. NRS 1 Therefore, since it is by God's mercy that we are engaged in this ministry, we do not lose heart. CEB 2 Instead, we reject secrecy and shameful actions. We don't use deception, and we don't tamper with God's word. Instead, we commend ourselves to everyone's conscience in the sight of God by the public announcement of the truth. NRS 2 We have renounced the shameful things that one hides; we refuse to practice cunning or to falsify God's word; but by the open statement of the truth we commend ourselves to the conscience of everyone in the sight of God.
