2 Kings 21:19-26

NCV 19 Amon was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he was king for two years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Meshullemeth daughter of Haruz, who was from Jotbah. NIV 19 Amon was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem two years. His mother’s name was Meshullemeth daughter of Haruz; she was from Jotbah. NCV 20 Amon did what the Lord said was wrong, as his father Manasseh had done. NIV 20 He did evil in the eyes of the LORD, as his father Manasseh had done. NCV 21 He lived in the same way his father had lived: he worshiped the idols his father had worshiped, and he bowed down before them. NIV 21 He followed completely the ways of his father, worshiping the idols his father had worshiped, and bowing down to them. NCV 22 Amon rejected the Lord, the God of his ancestors, and did not follow the ways of the Lord. NIV 22 He forsook the LORD, the God of his ancestors, and did not walk in obedience to him. NCV 23 Amon's officers made plans against him and killed him in his palace. NIV 23 Amon’s officials conspired against him and assassinated the king in his palace. NCV 24 Then the people of the land killed all those who had made plans to kill King Amon, and they made his son Josiah king in his place. NIV 24 Then the people of the land killed all who had plotted against King Amon, and they made Josiah his son king in his place. NCV 25 Everything else Amon did is written in the book of the history of the kings of Judah. NIV 25 As for the other events of Amon’s reign, and what he did, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Judah? NCV 26 He was buried in his grave in the garden of Uzza, and his son Josiah became king in his place. NIV 26 He was buried in his tomb in the garden of Uzza. And Josiah his son succeeded him as king.
