NAS 1 Moreover, from the blue and purple and scarlet material, they made finely woven garments for ministering in the holy place as well as the holy garments which were for Aaron, just as the LORD had commanded Moses. NIV 1 From the blue, purple and scarlet yarn they made woven garments for ministering in the sanctuary. They also made sacred garments for Aaron, as the LORD commanded Moses. NAS 2 He made the ephod of gold, and of blue and purple and scarlet material, and fine twisted linen. NIV 2 They made the ephod of gold, and of blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and of finely twisted linen. NAS 3 Then they hammered out gold sheets and cut them into threads to be woven in with the blue and the purple and the scarlet material, and the fine linen, the work of a skillful workman. NIV 3 They hammered out thin sheets of gold and cut strands to be worked into the blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen—the work of skilled hands. NAS 4 They made attaching shoulder pieces for the ephod; it was attached at its two upper ends. NIV 4 They made shoulder pieces for the ephod, which were attached to two of its corners, so it could be fastened. NAS 5 The skillfully woven band which was on it was like its workmanship, of the same material: of gold and of blue and purple and scarlet material, and fine twisted linen, just as the LORD had commanded Moses. NIV 5 Its skillfully woven waistband was like it—of one piece with the ephod and made with gold, and with blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and with finely twisted linen, as the LORD commanded Moses. NAS 6 They made the onyx stones, set in gold filigree settings; they were engraved like the engravings of a signet, according to the names of the sons of Israel. NIV 6 They mounted the onyx stones in gold filigree settings and engraved them like a seal with the names of the sons of Israel. NAS 7 And he placed them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod, as memorial stones for the sons of Israel, just as the LORD had commanded Moses. NIV 7 Then they fastened them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod as memorial stones for the sons of Israel, as the LORD commanded Moses. NAS 8 He made the breastpiece, the work of a skillful workman, like the workmanship of the ephod: of gold and of blue and purple and scarlet material and fine twisted linen. NIV 8 They fashioned the breastpiece—the work of a skilled craftsman. They made it like the ephod: of gold, and of blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and of finely twisted linen. NAS 9 It was square; they made the breastpiece folded double, a span long and a span wide when folded double. NIV 9 It was square—a span long and a span wide—and folded double. NAS 10 And they mounted four rows of stones on it. The first row was a row of ruby, topaz, and emerald; NIV 10 Then they mounted four rows of precious stones on it. The first row was carnelian, chrysolite and beryl; NAS 11 and the second row, a turquoise, a sapphire and a diamond; NIV 11 the second row was turquoise, lapis lazuli and emerald; NAS 12 and the third row, a jacinth, an agate, and an amethyst; NIV 12 the third row was jacinth, agate and amethyst; NAS 13 and the fourth row, a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper. They were set in gold filigree settings when they were mounted. NIV 13 the fourth row was topaz, onyx and jasper. They were mounted in gold filigree settings. NAS 14 The stones were corresponding to the names of the sons of Israel; they were twelve , corresponding to their names, engraved with the engravings of a signet, each with its name for the twelve tribes. NIV 14 There were twelve stones, one for each of the names of the sons of Israel, each engraved like a seal with the name of one of the twelve tribes. NAS 15 They made on the breastpiece chains like cords, of twisted cordage work in pure gold. NIV 15 For the breastpiece they made braided chains of pure gold, like a rope. NAS 16 They made two gold filigree settings and two gold rings, and put the two rings on the two ends of the breastpiece. NIV 16 They made two gold filigree settings and two gold rings, and fastened the rings to two of the corners of the breastpiece. NAS 17 Then they put the two gold cords in the two rings at the ends of the breastpiece. NIV 17 They fastened the two gold chains to the rings at the corners of the breastpiece, NAS 18 They put the other two ends of the two cords on the two filigree settings, and put them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod at the front of it. NIV 18 and the other ends of the chains to the two settings, attaching them to the shoulder pieces of the ephod at the front. NAS 19 They made two gold rings and placed them on the two ends of the breastpiece, on its inner edge which was next to the ephod. NIV 19 They made two gold rings and attached them to the other two corners of the breastpiece on the inside edge next to the ephod. NAS 20 Furthermore, they made two gold rings and placed them on the bottom of the two shoulder pieces of the ephod, on the front of it, close to the place where it joined, above the woven band of the ephod. NIV 20 Then they made two more gold rings and attached them to the bottom of the shoulder pieces on the front of the ephod, close to the seam just above the waistband of the ephod. NAS 21 They bound the breastpiece by its rings to the rings of the ephod with a blue cord, so that it would be on the woven band of the ephod, and that the breastpiece would not come loose from the ephod, just as the LORD had commanded Moses. NIV 21 They tied the rings of the breastpiece to the rings of the ephod with blue cord, connecting it to the waistband so that the breastpiece would not swing out from the ephod—as the LORD commanded Moses. NAS 22 Then he made the robe of the ephod of woven work, all of blue; NIV 22 They made the robe of the ephod entirely of blue cloth—the work of a weaver— NAS 23 and the opening of the robe was at the top in the center, as the opening of a coat of mail, with a binding all around its opening, so that it would not be torn. NIV 23 with an opening in the center of the robe like the opening of a collar, and a band around this opening, so that it would not tear. NAS 24 They made pomegranates of blue and purple and scarlet material and twisted linen on the hem of the robe. NAS 30 They made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold, and inscribed it like the engravings of a signet, "Holy to the LORD ." NIV 30 They made the plate, the sacred emblem, out of pure gold and engraved on it, like an inscription on a seal: HOLY TO THE LORD. NAS 31 They fastened a blue cord to it, to fasten it on the turban above , just as the LORD had commanded Moses. NIV 31 Then they fastened a blue cord to it to attach it to the turban, as the LORD commanded Moses.
