Galatians 1

KJV 1 Paul, an apostle, (not of men, neither by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead;) ESV 1 Paul, an apostle--not from men nor through man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead-- KJV 2 And all the brethren which are with me, unto the churches of Galatia: ESV 2 and all the brothers who are with me, To the churches of Galatia: KJV 3 Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, ESV 3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, KJV 4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: ESV 4 who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, KJV 5 To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. ESV 5 to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen. KJV 6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: ESV 6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel-- KJV 7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. ESV 7 not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. KJV 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. ESV 8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. KJV 9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. ESV 9 As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed. KJV 10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. ESV 10 For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ. KJV 11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. ESV 11 For I would have you know, brothers, that the gospel that was preached by me is not man's gospel. KJV 12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. ESV 12 For I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it, but I received it through a revelation of Jesus Christ. KJV 13 For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it: ESV 13 For you have heard of my former life in Judaism, how I persecuted the church of God violently and tried to destroy it. KJV 14 And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers. ESV 14 And I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my own age among my people, so extremely zealous was I for the traditions of my fathers. KJV 15 But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace, ESV 15 But when he who had set me apart before I was born, and who called me by his grace, KJV 16 To reveal his Son in me, that I might preach him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood: ESV 16 was pleased to reveal his Son to me, in order that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult with anyone; KJV 17 Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus. ESV 17 nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me, but I went away into Arabia, and returned again to Damascus. KJV 18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days. ESV 18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to visit Cephas and remained with him fifteen days. KJV 19 But other of the apostles saw I none, save James the Lord's brother. ESV 19 But I saw none of the other apostles except James the Lord's brother. KJV 20 Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not. ESV 20 (In what I am writing to you, before God, I do not lie!) KJV 21 Afterwards I came into the regions of Syria and Cilicia; ESV 21 Then I went into the regions of Syria and Cilicia. KJV 22 And was unknown by face unto the churches of Judaea which were in Christ: ESV 22 And I was still unknown in person to the churches of Judea that are in Christ. KJV 23 But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed. ESV 23 They only were hearing it said, "He who used to persecute us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy." KJV 24 And they glorified God in me. ESV 24 And they glorified God because of me.
