CSB 23 By faith Moses, after he was born, was hidden by his parents for three months, because they saw that the child was beautiful, and they didn't fear the king's edict. NIV 23 By faith Moses’ parents hid him for three months after he was born, because they saw he was no ordinary child, and they were not afraid of the king’s edict. CSB 35 Women received their dead raised to life again. Some men were tortured, not accepting release, so that they might gain a better resurrection, NIV 35 Women received back their dead, raised to life again. There were others who were tortured, refusing to be released so that they might gain an even better resurrection. CSB 36 and others experienced mockings and scourgings, as well as bonds and imprisonment. NIV 36 Some faced jeers and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment. CSB 37 They were stoned, they were sawed in two, they died by the sword, they wandered about in sheepskins, in goatskins, destitute, afflicted, and mistreated. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and mistreated— CSB 38 The world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts, mountains, caves, and holes in the ground.
