Job 32

YLT 1 And these three men cease from answering Job, for he [is] righteous in his own eyes, NIV 1 So these three men stopped answering Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes. YLT 2 and burn doth the anger of Elihu son of Barachel the Buzite, of the family of Ram; against Job hath his anger burned, because of his justifying himself more than God; NIV 2 But Elihu son of Barakel the Buzite, of the family of Ram, became very angry with Job for justifying himself rather than God. YLT 3 and against his three friends hath his anger burned, because that they have not found an answer, and condemn Job. NIV 3 He was also angry with the three friends, because they had found no way to refute Job, and yet had condemned him. YLT 4 And Elihu hath waited earnestly beside Job with words, for they are older than he in days. NIV 4 Now Elihu had waited before speaking to Job because they were older than he. YLT 5 And Elihu seeth that there is no answer in the mouth of the three men, and his anger burneth. NIV 5 But when he saw that the three men had nothing more to say, his anger was aroused. YLT 6 And Elihu son of Barachel the Buzite answereth and saith: -- Young I [am] in days, and ye [are] age Therefore I have feared, And am afraid of shewing you my opinion. NIV 6 So Elihu son of Barakel the Buzite said: “I am young in years, and you are old; that is why I was fearful, not daring to tell you what I know. YLT 7 I said: Days do speak, And multitude of years teach wisdom. NIV 7 I thought, ‘Age should speak; advanced years should teach wisdom.’ YLT 8 Surely a spirit is in man, And the breath of the Mighty One Doth cause them to understand. NIV 8 But it is the spirit in a person, the breath of the Almighty, that gives them understanding. YLT 9 The multitude are not wise, Nor do the aged understand judgment. NIV 9 It is not only the old who are wise, not only the aged who understand what is right. YLT 10 Therefore I have said: Hearken to me, I do shew my opinion -- even I. NIV 10 “Therefore I say: Listen to me; I too will tell you what I know. YLT 11 Lo, I have waited for your words, I give ear unto your reasons, Till ye search out sayings. NIV 11 I waited while you spoke, I listened to your reasoning; while you were searching for words, YLT 12 And unto you I attend, And lo, there is no reasoner for Job, [Or] answerer of his sayings among you. NIV 12 I gave you my full attention. But not one of you has proved Job wrong; none of you has answered his arguments. YLT 13 Lest ye say, We have found wisdom, God doth thrust him away, not man. NIV 13 Do not say, ‘We have found wisdom; let God, not a man, refute him.’ YLT 14 And he hath not set in array words for me, And with your sayings I do not answer him. NIV 14 But Job has not marshaled his words against me, and I will not answer him with your arguments. YLT 15 (They have broken down, They have not answered again, They removed from themselves words. NIV 15 “They are dismayed and have no more to say; words have failed them. YLT 16 And I have waited, but they do not speak, For they have stood still, They have not answered any more.) NIV 16 Must I wait, now that they are silent, now that they stand there with no reply? YLT 17 I answer, even I -- my share, I shew my opinion -- even I. NIV 17 I too will have my say; I too will tell what I know. YLT 18 For I have been full of words, Distressed me hath the spirit of my breast, NIV 18 For I am full of words, and the spirit within me compels me; YLT 19 Lo, my breast [is] as wine not opened, Like new bottles it is broken up. NIV 19 inside I am like bottled-up wine, like new wineskins ready to burst. YLT 20 I speak, and there is refreshment to me, I open my lips and answer. NIV 20 I must speak and find relief; I must open my lips and reply. YLT 21 Let me not, I pray you, accept the face of any, Nor unto man give flattering titles, NIV 21 I will show no partiality, nor will I flatter anyone; YLT 22 For I have not known to give flattering titles, In a little doth my Maker take me away. NIV 22 for if I were skilled in flattery, my Maker would soon take me away.
