Leviticus 9

KJV 1 And it came to pass on the eighth day, that Moses called Aaron and his sons, and the elders of Israel; NIV 1 On the eighth day Moses summoned Aaron and his sons and the elders of Israel. KJV 2 And he said unto Aaron, Take thee a young calf for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering, without blemish, and offer them before the LORD. NIV 2 He said to Aaron, “Take a bull calf for your sin offering and a ram for your burnt offering, both without defect, and present them before the LORD. KJV 3 And unto the children of Israel thou shalt speak, saying, Take ye a kid of the goats for a sin offering; and a calf and a lamb, both of the first year, without blemish, for a burnt offering; NIV 3 Then say to the Israelites: ‘Take a male goat for a sin offering, a calf and a lamb—both a year old and without defect—for a burnt offering, KJV 4 Also a bullock and a ram for peace offerings, to sacrifice before the LORD; and a meat offering mingled with oil: for to day the LORD will appear unto you. NIV 4 and an ox and a ram for a fellowship offering to sacrifice before the LORD, together with a grain offering mixed with olive oil. For today the LORD will appear to you.’ ” KJV 5 And they brought that which Moses commanded before the tabernacle of the congregation: and all the congregation drew near and stood before the LORD. NIV 5 They took the things Moses commanded to the front of the tent of meeting, and the entire assembly came near and stood before the LORD. KJV 6 And Moses said, This is the thing which the LORD commanded that ye should do: and the glory of the LORD shall appear unto you. NIV 6 Then Moses said, “This is what the LORD has commanded you to do, so that the glory of the LORD may appear to you.” KJV 7 And Moses said unto Aaron, Go unto the altar, and offer thy sin offering, and thy burnt offering, and make an atonement for thyself, and for the people: and offer the offering of the people, and make an atonement for them; as the LORD commanded. NIV 7 Moses said to Aaron, “Come to the altar and sacrifice your sin offering and your burnt offering and make atonement for yourself and the people; sacrifice the offering that is for the people and make atonement for them, as the LORD has commanded.” KJV 8 Aaron therefore went unto the altar, and slew the calf of the sin offering, which was for himself. NIV 8 So Aaron came to the altar and slaughtered the calf as a sin offering for himself. KJV 9 And the sons of Aaron brought the blood unto him: and he dipped his finger in the blood, and put it upon the horns of the altar, and poured out the blood at the bottom of the altar: NIV 9 His sons brought the blood to him, and he dipped his finger into the blood and put it on the horns of the altar; the rest of the blood he poured out at the base of the altar. KJV 10 But the fat, and the kidneys, and the caul above the liver of the sin offering, he burnt upon the altar; as the LORD commanded Moses. NIV 10 On the altar he burned the fat, the kidneys and the long lobe of the liver from the sin offering, as the LORD commanded Moses; KJV 11 And the flesh and the hide he burnt with fire without the camp. NIV 11 the flesh and the hide he burned up outside the camp. KJV 12 And he slew the burnt offering; and Aaron's sons presented unto him the blood, which he sprinkled round about upon the altar. NIV 12 Then he slaughtered the burnt offering. His sons handed him the blood, and he splashed it against the sides of the altar. KJV 13 And they presented the burnt offering unto him, with the pieces thereof, and the head: and he burnt them upon the altar. NIV 13 They handed him the burnt offering piece by piece, including the head, and he burned them on the altar. KJV 14 And he did wash the inwards and the legs, and burnt them upon the burnt offering on the altar. NIV 14 He washed the internal organs and the legs and burned them on top of the burnt offering on the altar. KJV 15 And he brought the people's offering, and took the goat, which was the sin offering for the people, and slew it, and offered it for sin, as the first. NIV 15 Aaron then brought the offering that was for the people. He took the goat for the people’s sin offering and slaughtered it and offered it for a sin offering as he did with the first one. KJV 16 And he brought the burnt offering, and offered it according to the manner. NIV 16 He brought the burnt offering and offered it in the prescribed way. KJV 17 And he brought the meat offering, and took an handful thereof, and burnt it upon the altar, beside the burnt sacrifice of the morning. NIV 17 He also brought the grain offering, took a handful of it and burned it on the altar in addition to the morning’s burnt offering. KJV 18 He slew also the bullock and the ram for a sacrifice of peace offerings, which was for the people: and Aaron's sons presented unto him the blood, which he sprinkled upon the altar round about, NIV 18 He slaughtered the ox and the ram as the fellowship offering for the people. His sons handed him the blood, and he splashed it against the sides of the altar. KJV 19 And the fat of the bullock and of the ram, the rump, and that which covereth the inwards, and the kidneys, and the caul above the liver: NIV 19 But the fat portions of the ox and the ram—the fat tail, the layer of fat, the kidneys and the long lobe of the liver— KJV 20 And they put the fat upon the breasts, and he burnt the fat upon the altar: NIV 20 these they laid on the breasts, and then Aaron burned the fat on the altar. KJV 21 And the breasts and the right shoulder Aaron waved for a wave offering before the LORD; as Moses commanded. NIV 21 Aaron waved the breasts and the right thigh before the LORD as a wave offering, as Moses commanded. KJV 22 And Aaron lifted up his hand toward the people, and blessed them, and came down from offering of the sin offering, and the burnt offering, and peace offerings. NIV 22 Then Aaron lifted his hands toward the people and blessed them. And having sacrificed the sin offering, the burnt offering and the fellowship offering, he stepped down. KJV 23 And Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of the congregation, and came out, and blessed the people: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto all the people. NIV 23 Moses and Aaron then went into the tent of meeting. When they came out, they blessed the people; and the glory of the LORD appeared to all the people. KJV 24 And there came a fire out from before the LORD, and consumed upon the altar the burnt offering and the fat: which when all the people saw, they shouted, and fell on their faces. NIV 24 Fire came out from the presence of the LORD and consumed the burnt offering and the fat portions on the altar. And when all the people saw it, they shouted for joy and fell facedown.
