NCV 1 On the eighth day after the time of appointing, Moses called for Aaron and his sons and for the older leaders of Israel. NIV 1 On the eighth day Moses summoned Aaron and his sons and the elders of Israel. NCV 2 He said to Aaron, "Take a bull calf and a male sheep that have nothing wrong with them, and offer them to the Lord. The calf will be a sin offering, and the male sheep will be a whole burnt offering. NIV 2 He said to Aaron, “Take a bull calf for your sin offering and a ram for your burnt offering, both without defect, and present them before the LORD. NCV 3 Tell the people of Israel, 'Take a male goat for a sin offering and a calf and a lamb for a whole burnt offering; each must be one year old, and it must have nothing wrong with it. NIV 3 Then say to the Israelites: ‘Take a male goat for a sin offering, a calf and a lamb—both a year old and without defect—for a burnt offering, NCV 4 Also take a bull and a male sheep for fellowship offerings, along with a grain offering mixed with oil. Offer all these things to the Lord, because the Lord will appear to you today.'" NIV 4 and an ox and a ram for a fellowship offering to sacrifice before the LORD, together with a grain offering mixed with olive oil. For today the LORD will appear to you.’ ” NCV 5 So all the people came to the front of the Meeting Tent, bringing the things Moses had commanded them to bring, and they stood before the Lord. NIV 5 They took the things Moses commanded to the front of the tent of meeting, and the entire assembly came near and stood before the LORD. NCV 6 Moses said, "You have done what the Lord commanded, so you will see the Lord's glory." NIV 6 Then Moses said, “This is what the LORD has commanded you to do, so that the glory of the LORD may appear to you.” NCV 7 Then Moses told Aaron, "Go to the altar and offer sin offerings and whole burnt offerings. Do this to remove your sins and the people's sins so you will belong to God. Offer the sacrifices for the people and perform the acts to remove their sins for them so they will belong to the Lord, as the Lord has commanded." NIV 7 Moses said to Aaron, “Come to the altar and sacrifice your sin offering and your burnt offering and make atonement for yourself and the people; sacrifice the offering that is for the people and make atonement for them, as the LORD has commanded.” NCV 8 So Aaron went to the altar and killed the bull calf as a sin offering for himself. NIV 8 So Aaron came to the altar and slaughtered the calf as a sin offering for himself. NCV 9 Then his sons brought the blood to him, and he dipped his finger in the blood and put it on the corners of the altar. He poured out the rest of the blood at the bottom of the altar. NIV 9 His sons brought the blood to him, and he dipped his finger into the blood and put it on the horns of the altar; the rest of the blood he poured out at the base of the altar. NCV 10 Aaron took the fat, the kidneys, and the best part of the liver from the sin offering and burned them on the altar, in the way the Lord had commanded Moses. NIV 10 On the altar he burned the fat, the kidneys and the long lobe of the liver from the sin offering, as the LORD commanded Moses; NCV 11 The meat and skin he burned outside the camp. NIV 11 the flesh and the hide he burned up outside the camp. NCV 12 Then Aaron killed the animal for the whole burnt offering. His sons brought the blood to him, and he sprinkled it on all sides of the altar. NIV 12 Then he slaughtered the burnt offering. His sons handed him the blood, and he splashed it against the sides of the altar. NCV 13 As they gave him the pieces and head of the burnt offering, Aaron burned them on the altar. NIV 13 They handed him the burnt offering piece by piece, including the head, and he burned them on the altar. NCV 14 He also washed the inner organs and the legs of the burnt offering and burned them on top of the burnt offering on the altar. NIV 14 He washed the internal organs and the legs and burned them on top of the burnt offering on the altar. NCV 15 Then Aaron brought the offering that was for the people. He took the goat of the people's sin offering and killed it and offered it for the sin offering, just as he had done the first sin offering. NIV 15 Aaron then brought the offering that was for the people. He took the goat for the people’s sin offering and slaughtered it and offered it for a sin offering as he did with the first one. NCV 16 Then Aaron brought the whole burnt offering and offered it in the way that the Lord had commanded. NIV 16 He brought the burnt offering and offered it in the prescribed way. NCV 17 He also brought the grain offering to the altar. He took a handful of the grain and burned it on the altar, in addition to the morning's burnt offering. NIV 17 He also brought the grain offering, took a handful of it and burned it on the altar in addition to the morning’s burnt offering. NCV 18 Aaron also killed the bull and the male sheep as the fellowship offerings for the people. His sons brought him the blood, and he sprinkled it on all sides of the altar. NIV 18 He slaughtered the ox and the ram as the fellowship offering for the people. His sons handed him the blood, and he splashed it against the sides of the altar. NCV 19 Aaron's sons also brought to Aaron the fat of the bull and the male sheep -- the fat tail, the fat covering the inner organs, the kidneys, and the best part of the liver. NIV 19 But the fat portions of the ox and the ram—the fat tail, the layer of fat, the kidneys and the long lobe of the liver— NCV 20 Aaron's sons put them on the breasts of the bull and the sheep. Then Aaron burned these fat parts on the altar. NIV 20 these they laid on the breasts, and then Aaron burned the fat on the altar. NCV 21 He presented the breasts and the right thigh before the Lord as the priests' share of the offering, as Moses had commanded. NIV 21 Aaron waved the breasts and the right thigh before the LORD as a wave offering, as Moses commanded. NCV 22 Then Aaron lifted his hands toward the people and blessed them. When he had finished offering the sin offering, the burnt offering, and the fellowship offering, he stepped down from the altar. NIV 22 Then Aaron lifted his hands toward the people and blessed them. And having sacrificed the sin offering, the burnt offering and the fellowship offering, he stepped down. NCV 23 Moses and Aaron went into the Meeting Tent. Then they came out and blessed the people, and the Lord's glory came to all the people. NIV 23 Moses and Aaron then went into the tent of meeting. When they came out, they blessed the people; and the glory of the LORD appeared to all the people. NCV 24 Fire came out from the Lord and burned up the burnt offering and fat on the altar. When the people saw this, they shouted with joy and bowed facedown on the ground. NIV 24 Fire came out from the presence of the LORD and consumed the burnt offering and the fat portions on the altar. And when all the people saw it, they shouted for joy and fell facedown.
