WEB 1 <<A Song of Ascents.>> Yahweh, remember David and all his affliction, NIV 1 LORD, remember David and all his self-denial. WEB 2 How he swore to Yahweh, And vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob: NIV 2 He swore an oath to the LORD, he made a vow to the Mighty One of Jacob: WEB 3 "Surely I will not come into the structure of my house, Nor go up into my bed; NIV 3 “I will not enter my house or go to my bed, WEB 4 I will not give sleep to my eyes, Or slumber to my eyelids; NIV 4 I will allow no sleep to my eyes or slumber to my eyelids, WEB 5 Until I find out a place for Yahweh, A dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob." NIV 5 till I find a place for the LORD, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob.” WEB 6 Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah. We found it in the field of Jaar: NIV 6 We heard it in Ephrathah, we came upon it in the fields of Jaar: WEB 7 "We will go into his dwelling place. We will worship at his footstool. NIV 7 “Let us go to his dwelling place, let us worship at his footstool, saying, WEB 8 Arise, Yahweh, into your resting place; You, and the ark of your strength. NIV 8 ‘Arise, LORD, and come to your resting place, you and the ark of your might. WEB 9 Let your priest be clothed with righteousness. Let your saints shout for joy!" NIV 9 May your priests be clothed with your righteousness; may your faithful people sing for joy.’ ” WEB 10 For your servant David's sake, Don't turn away the face of your anointed one. NIV 10 For the sake of your servant David, do not reject your anointed one. WEB 11 Yahweh has sworn to David in truth. He will not turn from it: "I will set the fruit of your body on your throne. NIV 11 The LORD swore an oath to David, a sure oath he will not revoke: “One of your own descendants I will place on your throne. WEB 12 If your children will keep my covenant, My testimony that I will teach them, Their children also will sit on your throne forevermore." NIV 12 If your sons keep my covenant and the statutes I teach them, then their sons will sit on your throne for ever and ever.” WEB 13 For Yahweh has chosen Zion. He has desired it for his habitation. NIV 13 For the LORD has chosen Zion, he has desired it for his dwelling, saying, WEB 14 "This is my resting place forever. Here I will live, for I have desired it. NIV 14 “This is my resting place for ever and ever; here I will sit enthroned, for I have desired it. WEB 15 I will abundantly bless her provision. I will satisfy her poor with bread. NIV 15 I will bless her with abundant provisions; her poor I will satisfy with food. WEB 16 Her priests I will also clothe with salvation. Her saints will shout aloud for joy. NIV 16 I will clothe her priests with salvation, and her faithful people will ever sing for joy. WEB 17 There I will make the horn of David to bud. I have ordained a lamp for my anointed. NIV 17 “Here I will make a horn grow for David and set up a lamp for my anointed one. WEB 18 I will clothe his enemies with shame, But on himself, his crown will be resplendant." NIV 18 I will clothe his enemies with shame, but his head will be adorned with a radiant crown.”
