KJVA 1 I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up , and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me. NIV 1 I will exalt you, LORD, for you lifted me out of the depths and did not let my enemies gloat over me. KJVA 2 O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me. NIV 2 LORD my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me. KJVA 3 O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive , that I should not go down to the pit. NIV 4 Sing the praises of the LORD, you his faithful people; praise his holy name. KJVA 5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. NIV 5 For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. KJVA 6 And in my prosperity I said , I shall never be moved . NIV 6 When I felt secure, I said, “I will never be shaken.” KJVA 7 LORD, by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled . NIV 7 LORD, when you favored me, you made my royal mountain stand firm; but when you hid your face, I was dismayed. KJVA 8 I cried to thee, O LORD; and unto the LORD I made supplication . NIV 8 To you, LORD, I called; to the Lord I cried for mercy: KJVA 9 What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth? NIV 9 “What is gained if I am silenced, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it proclaim your faithfulness? KJVA 10 Hear , O LORD, and have mercy upon me: LORD, be thou my helper . NIV 10 Hear, LORD, and be merciful to me; LORD, be my help.” KJVA 11 Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; NIV 11 You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, KJVA 12 To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent . O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever. NIV 12 that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. LORD my God, I will praise you forever.
