NIV 5 My enemies say of me in malice, “When will he die and his name perish?” NRSA 6 And when they come to see me, they utter empty words, while their hearts gather mischief; when they go out, they tell it abroad. NIV 6 When one of them comes to see me, he speaks falsely, while his heart gathers slander; then he goes out and spreads it around. NRSA 7 All who hate me whisper together about me; they imagine the worst for me. NIV 7 All my enemies whisper together against me; they imagine the worst for me, saying, NRSA 8 They think that a deadly thing has fastened on me, that I will not rise again from where I lie. NIV 8 “A vile disease has afflicted him; he will never get up from the place where he lies.” NRSA 9 Even my bosom friend in whom I trusted, who ate of my bread, has lifted the heel against me. NIV 9 Even my close friend, someone I trusted, one who shared my bread, has turned against me. NRSA 10 But you, O Lord, be gracious to me, and raise me up, that I may repay them. NIV 10 But may you have mercy on me, LORD; raise me up, that I may repay them. NRSA 11 By this I know that you are pleased with me; because my enemy has not triumphed over me.
