Psalm 47

CEB 1 Clap your hands, all you people! Shout joyfully to God with a joyous shout! NRS 1 Clap your hands, all you peoples; shout to God with loud songs of joy. CEB 2 Because the LORD Most High is awesome, he is the great king of the whole world. NRS 2 For the Lord, the Most High, is awesome, a great king over all the earth. CEB 3 He subdues the nations under us, subdues all people beneath our feet. NRS 3 He subdued peoples under us, and nations under our feet. CEB 4 He chooses our inheritance for us: the heights of Jacob, which he loves. Selah NRS 4 He chose our heritage for us, the pride of Jacob whom he loves. (Selah) CEB 5 God has gone up with a joyous shout— the LORD with the blast of the ram's horn. NRS 5 God has gone up with a shout, the Lord with the sound of a trumpet. CEB 6 Sing praises to God! Sing praises! Sing praises to our king! Sing praises NRS 6 Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises. CEB 7 because God is king of the whole world! Sing praises with a song of instruction! NRS 7 For God is the king of all the earth; sing praises with a psalm. CEB 8 God is king over the nations. God sits on his holy throne. NRS 8 God is king over the nations; God sits on his holy throne. CEB 9 The leaders of all people are gathered with the people of Abraham's God because the earth's guardians belong to God; God is exalted beyond all. NRS 9 The princes of the peoples gather as the people of the God of Abraham. For the shields of the earth belong to God; he is highly exalted.
