NLT 1 Give your love of justice to the king, O God, and righteousness to the king’s son. NIV 1 Endow the king with your justice, O God, the royal son with your righteousness. NLT 2 Help him judge your people in the right way; let the poor always be treated fairly. NIV 2 May he judge your people in righteousness, your afflicted ones with justice. NLT 3 May the mountains yield prosperity for all, and may the hills be fruitful. NIV 3 May the mountains bring prosperity to the people, the hills the fruit of righteousness. NLT 4 Help him to defend the poor, to rescue the children of the needy, and to crush their oppressors. NIV 4 May he defend the afflicted among the people and save the children of the needy; may he crush the oppressor. NLT 5 May they fear you as long as the sun shines, as long as the moon remains in the sky. Yes, forever! NIV 5 May he endure as long as the sun, as long as the moon, through all generations.
