NAS 1 Oh, give ear, Shepherd of Israel, You who lead Joseph like a flock; You who are enthroned above the cherubim, shine forth! NIV 1 Hear us, Shepherd of Israel, you who lead Joseph like a flock. You who sit enthroned between the cherubim, shine forth NAS 2 Before Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh, stir up Your power And come to save us! NIV 2 before Ephraim, Benjamin and Manasseh. Awaken your might; come and save us. NAS 3 O God, restore us And cause Your face to shine upon us, and we will be saved. NIV 3 Restore us, O God; make your face shine on us, that we may be saved. NAS 4 O LORD God of hosts, How long will You be angry with the prayer of Your people? NIV 4 How long, LORD God Almighty, will your anger smolder against the prayers of your people? NAS 5 You have fed them with the bread of tears, And You have made them to drink tears in large measure. NIV 5 You have fed them with the bread of tears; you have made them drink tears by the bowlful. NAS 6 You make us an object of contention to our neighbors, And our enemies laugh among themselves. NIV 6 You have made us an object of derision to our neighbors, and our enemies mock us. NAS 7 O God of hosts, restore us And cause Your face to shine upon us, and we will be saved. NIV 7 Restore us, God Almighty; make your face shine on us, that we may be saved. NAS 8 You removed a vine from Egypt; You drove out the nations and planted it. NIV 8 You transplanted a vine from Egypt; you drove out the nations and planted it. NAS 9 You cleared the ground before it, And it took deep root and filled the land. NIV 9 You cleared the ground for it, and it took root and filled the land. NAS 10 The mountains were covered with its shadow, And the cedars of God with its boughs. NIV 10 The mountains were covered with its shade, the mighty cedars with its branches. NAS 11 It was sending out its branches to the sea And its shoots to the River. NIV 11 Its branches reached as far as the Sea,its shoots as far as the River. NAS 12 Why have You broken down its hedges, So that all who pass that way pick its fruit? NIV 12 Why have you broken down its walls so that all who pass by pick its grapes? NAS 13 A boar from the forest eats it away And whatever moves in the field feeds on it. NIV 13 Boars from the forest ravage it, and insects from the fields feed on it. NAS 14 O God of hosts, turn again now, we beseech You; Look down from heaven and see, and take care of this vine, NIV 14 Return to us, God Almighty! Look down from heaven and see! Watch over this vine, NAS 15 Even the shoot which Your right hand has planted, And on the son whom You have strengthened for Yourself. NIV 15 the root your right hand has planted, the son you have raised up for yourself. NAS 16 It is burned with fire, it is cut down; They perish at the rebuke of Your countenance. NIV 16 Your vine is cut down, it is burned with fire; at your rebuke your people perish. NAS 17 Let Your hand be upon the man of Your right hand, Upon the son of man whom You made strong for Yourself. NIV 17 Let your hand rest on the man at your right hand, the son of man you have raised up for yourself. NAS 18 Then we shall not turn back from You; Revive us, and we will call upon Your name. NIV 18 Then we will not turn away from you; revive us, and we will call on your name. NAS 19 O LORD God of hosts, restore us; Cause Your face to shine upon us, and we will be saved. NIV 19 Restore us, LORD God Almighty; make your face shine on us, that we may be saved.
