NCV 10 You have obeyed my teaching about not giving up your faith. So I will keep you from the time of trouble that will come to the whole world to test those who live on earth. NIV 10 Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come on the whole world to test the inhabitants of the earth. NCV 11 "I am coming soon. Continue strong in your faith so no one will take away your crown. NIV 11 I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown. NCV 12 I will make those who win the victory pillars in the temple of my God, and they will never have to leave it. I will write on them the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, that comes down out of heaven from my God. I will also write on them my new name. NIV 12 The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will they leave it. I will write on them the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on them my new name. NCV 13 Everyone who has ears should listen to what the Spirit says to the churches. NIV 13 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. NCV 14 "Write this to the angel of the church in Laodicea: "The Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of all God has made, says this: NIV 14 “To the angel of the church in Laodicea write:These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God’s creation. NCV 15 I know what you do, that you are not hot or cold. I wish that you were hot or cold! NIV 15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! NCV 16 But because you are lukewarm -- neither hot, nor cold -- I am ready to spit you out of my mouth. NIV 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. NCV 17 You say, 'I am rich, and I have become wealthy and do not need anything.' But you do not know that you are really miserable, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked. NIV 17 You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. NCV 18 I advise you to buy from me gold made pure in fire so you can be truly rich. Buy from me white clothes so you can be clothed and so you can cover your shameful nakedness. Buy from me medicine to put on your eyes so you can truly see. NIV 18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see. NCV 19 "I correct and punish those whom I love. So be eager to do right, and change your hearts and lives. NIV 19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent. NCV 20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in and eat with you, and you will eat with me. NIV 20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me. NCV 21 "Those who win the victory will sit with me on my throne in the same way that I won the victory and sat down with my Father on his throne. NIV 21 To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne. NCV 22 Everyone who has ears should listen to what the Spirit says to the churches." NIV 22 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”
