KJV 34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: NIV 34 Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism KJV 35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him. NIV 35 but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right. KJV 36 The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (he is Lord of all:) NIV 36 You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, announcing the good news of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all. KJV 37 That word, I say, ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached; NIV 37 You know what has happened throughout the province of Judea, beginning in Galilee after the baptism that John preached— KJV 38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. NIV 38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him. KJV 39 And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree: NIV 39 “We are witnesses of everything he did in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They killed him by hanging him on a cross, KJV 40 Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly; NIV 40 but God raised him from the dead on the third day and caused him to be seen. KJV 41 Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead. NIV 41 He was not seen by all the people, but by witnesses whom God had already chosen—by us who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. KJV 42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead. NIV 42 He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one whom God appointed as judge of the living and the dead. KJV 43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins. NIV 43 All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”
