1 El altar sobre el monte Ebal<br />Entonces Moisés y los líderes de Israel le dieron al pueblo la siguiente orden: «Obedece todos los mandatos que te entrego hoy.

Moses and the elders of Israel commanded the people: “Keep all these commands that I give you today.
2 Cuando cruces el río Jordán y entres en la tierra que el Señor<br /> tu Dios te da, erige algunas piedras grandes y recúbrelas con yeso.

When you have crossed the Jordan into the land the LORD your God is giving you, set up some large stones and coat them with plaster.
3 Escribe en ellas todo este conjunto de instrucciones una vez que hayas cruzado el río para entrar en la tierra que el Señor<br /> tu Dios te da, una tierra donde fluyen la leche y la miel, tal como te prometió el Señor<br />, Dios de tus antepasados.

Write on them all the words of this law when you have crossed over to enter the land the LORD your God is giving you, a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the LORD, the God of your ancestors, promised you.
4 Después de cruzar el Jordán, erige esas piedras en el monte Ebal y recúbrelas con yeso, tal como te ordeno hoy.

And when you have crossed the Jordan, set up these stones on Mount Ebal, as I command you today, and coat them with plaster.
5 »Luego edifica allí un altar al Señor<br /> tu Dios con piedras enteras y en su forma original. No des forma a las piedras con ninguna herramienta de hierro.

Build there an altar to the LORD your God, an altar of stones. Do not use any iron tool on them.
6 Edifica el altar con esas piedras sin labrar y úsalo para presentar ofrendas quemadas al Señor<br /> tu Dios.

Build the altar of the LORD your God with fieldstones and offer burnt offerings on it to the LORD your God.
7 También sacrifica allí ofrendas de paz y celebra, ante el Señor<br /> tu Dios, comiendo hasta quedar satisfecho.

Sacrifice fellowship offerings there, eating them and rejoicing in the presence of the LORD your God.
8 Escribe con claridad todas estas instrucciones sobre las piedras cubiertas de yeso».

And you shall write very clearly all the words of this law on these stones you have set up.”
9 Luego Moisés y los sacerdotes levitas se dirigieron al pueblo con las siguientes palabras: «¡Escucha en silencio, oh Israel! Hoy te has convertido en el pueblo del Señor<br /> tu Dios.

Then Moses and the Levitical priests said to all Israel, “Be silent, Israel, and listen! You have now become the people of the LORD your God.
10 Por lo tanto, obedece al Señor<br /> tu Dios cumpliendo todos los mandatos y los decretos que te entrego hoy».

Obey the LORD your God and follow his commands and decrees that I give you today.”
11 Maldiciones desde el monte Ebal<br />Ese mismo día, Moisés también le dio al pueblo la siguiente orden:

On the same day Moses commanded the people:
12 «Cuando cruces el río Jordán, las tribus de Simeón, de Leví, de Judá, de Isacar, de José y de Benjamín subirán al monte Gerizim para proclamar una bendición sobre el pueblo.

When you have crossed the Jordan, these tribes shall stand on Mount Gerizim to bless the people: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph and Benjamin.
13 Y las tribus de Rubén, de Gad, de Aser, de Zabulón, de Dan y de Neftalí subirán al monte Ebal y proclamarán una maldición.

And these tribes shall stand on Mount Ebal to pronounce curses: Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan and Naphtali.
14 »Entonces los levitas dirán con voz potente a todo el pueblo de Israel:

The Levites shall recite to all the people of Israel in a loud voice:
15 “Maldito todo el que talle o funda un ídolo y lo erija en secreto. Esos ídolos, productos de artesanos, son detestables al Señor<br />”.<br />Y todo el pueblo responderá: “¡Amén!”.

“Cursed is anyone who makes an idol—a thing detestable to the LORD, the work of skilled hands—and sets it up in secret.” Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
16 “Maldito todo el que deshonre a su padre o a su madre”.<br />Y todo el pueblo responderá: “¡Amén!”.

“Cursed is anyone who dishonors their father or mother.” Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
17 “Maldito todo el que robe terreno a su vecino cambiando de lugar los límites de su propiedad”.<br />Y todo el pueblo responderá: “¡Amén!”.

“Cursed is anyone who moves their neighbor’s boundary stone.” Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
18 “Maldito todo el que desvíe a un ciego de su camino”.<br />Y todo el pueblo responderá: “¡Amén!”.

“Cursed is anyone who leads the blind astray on the road.” Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
19 “Maldito todo el que se niegue a hacer justicia al extranjero, al huérfano o a la viuda”.<br />Y todo el pueblo responderá: “¡Amén!”.

“Cursed is anyone who withholds justice from the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow.” Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
20 “Maldito todo el que tenga relaciones sexuales con alguna esposa de su padre, porque ese acto es una deshonra al padre”.<br />Y todo el pueblo responderá: “¡Amén!”.

“Cursed is anyone who sleeps with his father’s wife, for he dishonors his father’s bed.” Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
21 “Maldito todo el que tenga relaciones sexuales con un animal”.<br />Y todo el pueblo responderá: “¡Amén!”.

“Cursed is anyone who has sexual relations with any animal.” Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
22 “Maldito todo el que tenga relaciones sexuales con su hermana, tanto por parte de padre como de madre”.<br />Y todo el pueblo responderá: “¡Amén!”.

“Cursed is anyone who sleeps with his sister, the daughter of his father or the daughter of his mother.” Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
23 “Maldito todo el que tenga relaciones sexuales con su suegra”.<br />Y todo el pueblo responderá: “¡Amén!”.

“Cursed is anyone who sleeps with his mother-in-law.” Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
24 “Maldito todo el que ataque a su vecino en secreto”.<br />Y todo el pueblo responderá: “¡Amén!”.

“Cursed is anyone who kills their neighbor secretly.” Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
25 “Maldito todo el que acepte un pago para matar a un inocente”.<br />Y todo el pueblo responderá: “¡Amén!”.

“Cursed is anyone who accepts a bribe to kill an innocent person.” Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
