Deuteronomy 34:1-8

NRSA 1 Then Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, which is opposite Jericho, and the Lord showed him the whole land: Gilead as far as Dan, NIV 1 Then Moses climbed Mount Nebo from the plains of Moab to the top of Pisgah, across from Jericho. There the LORD showed him the whole land—from Gilead to Dan, NRSA 2 all Naphtali, the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, all the land of Judah as far as the Western Sea, NIV 2 all of Naphtali, the territory of Ephraim and Manasseh, all the land of Judah as far as the Mediterranean Sea, NRSA 3 the Negeb, and the Plain—that is, the valley of Jericho, the city of palm trees—as far as Zoar. NIV 3 the Negev and the whole region from the Valley of Jericho, the City of Palms, as far as Zoar. NRSA 4 The Lord said to him, "This is the land of which I swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, "I will give it to your descendants'; I have let you see it with your eyes, but you shall not cross over there." NIV 4 Then the LORD said to him, “This is the land I promised on oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob when I said, ‘I will give it to your descendants.’ I have let you see it with your eyes, but you will not cross over into it.” NRSA 5 Then Moses, the servant of the Lord, died there in the land of Moab, at the Lord's command. NIV 5 And Moses the servant of the LORD died there in Moab, as the LORD had said. NRSA 6 He was buried in a valley in the land of Moab, opposite Beth-peor, but no one knows his burial place to this day. NIV 6 He buried him in Moab, in the valley opposite Beth Peor, but to this day no one knows where his grave is. NRSA 7 Moses was one hundred twenty years old when he died; his sight was unimpaired and his vigor had not abated. NIV 7 Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died, yet his eyes were not weak nor his strength gone. NRSA 8 The Israelites wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days; then the period of mourning for Moses was ended. NIV 8 The Israelites grieved for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days, until the time of weeping and mourning was over.
