CEB 1 This is why I, Paul, am a prisoner of Christ for you Gentiles. NRS 1 This is the reason that I Paul am a prisoner for Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles— CEB 2 You've heard, of course, about the responsibility to distribute God's grace, which God gave to me for you, right? NRS 2 for surely you have already heard of the commission of God's grace that was given me for you, CEB 3 God showed me his secret plan in a revelation, as I mentioned briefly before ( NRS 3 and how the mystery was made known to me by revelation, as I wrote above in a few words, CEB 4 when you read this, you'll understand my insight into the secret plan about Christ). NRS 4 a reading of which will enable you to perceive my understanding of the mystery of Christ. CEB 5 Earlier generations didn't know this hidden plan that God has now revealed to his holy apostles and prophets through the Spirit. NRS 5 In former generations this mystery was not made known to humankind, as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit: CEB 6 This plan is that the Gentiles would be coheirs and parts of the same body, and that they would share with the Jews in the promises of God in Christ Jesus through the gospel. NRS 6 that is, the Gentiles have become fellow heirs, members of the same body, and sharers in the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel. CEB 7 I became a servant of the gospel because of the grace that God showed me through the exercise of his power. NRS 7 Of this gospel I have become a servant according to the gift of God's grace that was given me by the working of his power. CEB 8 God gave his grace to me, the least of all God's people, to preach the good news about the immeasurable riches of Christ to the Gentiles. NRS 8 Although I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given to me to bring to the Gentiles the news of the boundless riches of Christ, CEB 9 God sent me to reveal the secret plan that had been hidden since the beginning of time by God, who created everything. NRS 9 and to make everyone see what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God who created all things; CEB 10 God's purpose is now to show the rulers and powers in the heavens the many different varieties of his wisdom through the church. NRS 10 so that through the church the wisdom of God in its rich variety might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. CEB 11 This was consistent with the plan he had from the beginning of time that he accomplished through Christ Jesus our Lord. NRS 11 This was in accordance with the eternal purpose that he has carried out in Christ Jesus our Lord, CEB 12 In Christ we have bold and confident access to God through faith in him. NRS 12 in whom we have access to God in boldness and confidence through faith in him.
