Ezekiel 24:15-18

NLT 15 Then this message came to me from the LORD : NIV 15 The word of the LORD came to me: NLT 16 “Son of man, with one blow I will take away your dearest treasure. Yet you must not show any sorrow at her death. Do not weep; let there be no tears. NIV 16 “Son of man, with one blow I am about to take away from you the delight of your eyes. Yet do not lament or weep or shed any tears. NLT 17 Groan silently, but let there be no wailing at her grave. Do not uncover your head or take off your sandals. Do not perform the usual rituals of mourning or accept any food brought to you by consoling friends.” NIV 17 Groan quietly; do not mourn for the dead. Keep your turban fastened and your sandals on your feet; do not cover your mustache and beard or eat the customary food of mourners.” NLT 18 So I proclaimed this to the people the next morning, and in the evening my wife died. The next morning I did everything I had been told to do. NIV 18 So I spoke to the people in the morning, and in the evening my wife died. The next morning I did as I had been commanded.
