1 The hand of the LORD was on me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the LORD and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones.

La mano del SEÑOR vino sobre mí, y su Espíritu me llevó y me colocó en medio de un valle que estaba lleno de huesos.
2 He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry.

Me hizo pasearme entre ellos, y pude observar que había muchísimos huesos en el valle, huesos que estaban completamente secos.
3 He asked me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” I said, “Sovereign LORD, you alone know.”

Y me dijo: «Hijo de hombre, ¿podrán revivir estos huesos?» Y yo le contesté: «SEÑOR omnipotente, tú lo sabes».
4 Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the LORD!

Entonces me dijo: «Profetiza sobre estos huesos, y diles: “¡Huesos secos, escuchen la palabra del SEÑOR!
5 This is what the Sovereign LORD says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life.

Así dice el SEÑOR omnipotente a estos huesos: ‘Yo les daré aliento de vida, y ustedes volverán a vivir.
6 I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’ ”

Les pondré tendones, haré que les salga carne, y los cubriré de piel; les daré aliento de vida, y así revivirán. Entonces sabrán que yo soy el SEÑOR’”».
7 So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone.

Tal y como el SEÑOR me lo había mandado, profeticé. Y mientras profetizaba, se escuchó un ruido que sacudió la tierra, y los huesos comenzaron a unirse entre sí.
8 I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them.

Yo me fijé, y vi que en ellos aparecían tendones, y les salía carne y se recubrían de piel, ¡pero no tenían vida!
9 Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Come, breath, from the four winds and breathe into these slain, that they may live.’ ”

Entonces el SEÑOR me dijo: «Profetiza, hijo de hombre; conjura al aliento de vida y dile: “Esto ordena el SEÑOR omnipotente: ‘Ven de los cuatro vientos, y dales vida a estos huesos muertos para que revivan’”».
10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet—a vast army.

Yo profeticé, tal como el SEÑOR me lo había ordenado, y el aliento de vida entró en ellos; entonces los huesos revivieron y se pusieron de pie. ¡Era un ejército numeroso!
11 Then he said to me: “Son of man, these bones are the people of Israel. They say, ‘Our bones are dried up and our hope is gone; we are cut off.’

Luego me dijo: «Hijo de hombre, estos huesos son el pueblo de Israel. Ellos andan diciendo: “Nuestros huesos se han secado. Ya no tenemos esperanza. ¡Estamos perdidos!”
12 Therefore prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: My people, I am going to open your graves and bring you up from them; I will bring you back to the land of Israel.

Por eso, profetiza y adviérteles que así dice el SEÑOR omnipotente: “Pueblo mío, abriré tus tumbas y te sacaré de ellas, y te haré regresar a la tierra de Israel.
13 Then you, my people, will know that I am the LORD, when I open your graves and bring you up from them.

Y cuando haya abierto tus tumbas y te haya sacado de allí, entonces, pueblo mío, sabrás que yo soy el SEÑOR.
14 I will put my Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I the LORD have spoken, and I have done it, declares the LORD.’ ”

Pondré en ti mi aliento de vida, y volverás a vivir. Y te estableceré en tu propia tierra. Entonces sabrás que yo, el SEÑOR, lo he dicho, y lo cumpliré. Lo afirma el SEÑOR”».
15 The word of the LORD came to me:

El SEÑOR me dirigió la palabra:
16 “Son of man, take a stick of wood and write on it, ‘Belonging to Judah and the Israelites associated with him.’ Then take another stick of wood, and write on it, ‘Belonging to Joseph (that is, to Ephraim) and all the Israelites associated with him.’

«Hijo de hombre, toma una vara y escribe sobre ella: “Para Judá y sus aliados los israelitas”. Luego toma otra vara y escribe: “Para José, vara de Efraín, y todos sus aliados los israelitas”.
17 Join them together into one stick so that they will become one in your hand.

Júntalas, la una con la otra, de modo que formen una sola vara en tu mano.
18 “When your people ask you, ‘Won’t you tell us what you mean by this?’

»Cuando la gente de tu pueblo te pregunte: “¿Qué significa todo esto?”,
19 say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am going to take the stick of Joseph—which is in Ephraim’s hand—and of the Israelite tribes associated with him, and join it to Judah’s stick. I will make them into a single stick of wood, and they will become one in my hand.’

tú les responderás que así dice el SEÑOR omnipotente: “Voy a tomar la vara de José que está en la mano de Efraín, y a las tribus de Israel que están unidas a él, y la uniré a la vara de Judá. Así haré con ellos una sola vara, y en mi mano serán una sola”.
20 Hold before their eyes the sticks you have written on

Sostén en tu mano las varas sobre las cuales has escrito, de modo que ellos las vean,
21 and say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will take the Israelites out of the nations where they have gone. I will gather them from all around and bring them back into their own land.

y adviérteles que así dice el SEÑOR omnipotente: “Tomaré a los israelitas de entre las naciones por donde han andado, y de todas partes los reuniré y los haré regresar a su propia tierra.
22 I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel. There will be one king over all of them and they will never again be two nations or be divided into two kingdoms.

Y en esta tierra, en los montes de Israel, haré de ellos una sola nación. Todos estarán bajo un solo rey, y nunca más serán dos naciones ni estarán divididos en dos reinos.
23 They will no longer defile themselves with their idols and vile images or with any of their offenses, for I will save them from all their sinful backsliding, and I will cleanse them. They will be my people, and I will be their God.

Ya no se contaminarán más con sus ídolos, ni con sus iniquidades ni actos abominables. Yo los libraré y los purificaré de todas sus infidelidades. Ellos serán mi pueblo y yo seré su Dios.
24 “ ‘My servant David will be king over them, and they will all have one shepherd. They will follow my laws and be careful to keep my decrees.

Mi siervo David será su rey, y todos tendrán un solo pastor. Caminarán según mis leyes, y cumplirán mis preceptos y los pondrán en práctica.
25 They will live in the land I gave to my servant Jacob, the land where your ancestors lived. They and their children and their children’s children will live there forever, and David my servant will be their prince forever.

Habitarán en la tierra que le di a mi siervo Jacob, donde vivieron sus antepasados. Ellos, sus hijos y sus nietos vivirán allí para siempre, y mi siervo David será su príncipe eterno.
26 I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be an everlasting covenant. I will establish them and increase their numbers, and I will put my sanctuary among them forever.

Y haré con ellos un pacto de paz. Será un pacto eterno. Haré que se multipliquen, y para siempre colocaré mi santuario en medio de ellos.
27 My dwelling place will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be my people.

Habitaré entre ellos, y yo seré su Dios y ellos serán mi pueblo.
28 Then the nations will know that I the LORD make Israel holy, when my sanctuary is among them forever.’ ”

Y cuando mi santuario esté para siempre en medio de ellos, las naciones sabrán que yo, el SEÑOR he hecho de Israel un pueblo santo”».
