HNV 1 Now in the first year of Koresh king of Paras, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Yirmeyahu might be accomplished, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Koresh king of Paras, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and [put it] also in writing, saying, NIV 1 In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, in order to fulfill the word of the LORD spoken by Jeremiah, the LORD moved the heart of Cyrus king of Persia to make a proclamation throughout his realm and also to put it in writing: HNV 2 Thus says Koresh king of Paras, All the kingdoms of the eretz has the LORD, the God of heaven, given me; and he has charged me to build him a house in Yerushalayim, which is in Yehudah. NIV 2 “This is what Cyrus king of Persia says: “ ‘The LORD, the God of heaven, has given me all the kingdoms of the earth and he has appointed me to build a temple for him at Jerusalem in Judah. HNV 3 Whoever there is among you of all his people, his God be with him, and let him go up to Yerushalayim, which is in Yehudah, and build the house of the LORD, the God of Yisra'el (he is God), which is in Yerushalayim. NIV 3 Any of his people among you may go up to Jerusalem in Judah and build the temple of the LORD, the God of Israel, the God who is in Jerusalem, and may their God be with them. HNV 4 Whoever is left, in any place where he sojourns, let the men of his place help him with silver, and with gold, and with goods, and with animals, besides the freewill-offering for the house of God which is in Yerushalayim. NIV 4 And in any locality where survivors may now be living, the people are to provide them with silver and gold, with goods and livestock, and with freewill offerings for the temple of God in Jerusalem.’ ” HNV 5 Then rose up the heads of fathers' [houses] of Yehudah and Binyamin, and the Kohanim, and the Levites, even all whose spirit God had stirred to go up to build the house of the LORD which is in Yerushalayim. NIV 5 Then the family heads of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests and Levites—everyone whose heart God had moved—prepared to go up and build the house of the LORD in Jerusalem. HNV 6 All those who were round about them strengthened their hands with vessels of silver, with gold, with goods, and with animals, and with precious things, besides all that was willingly offered. NIV 6 All their neighbors assisted them with articles of silver and gold, with goods and livestock, and with valuable gifts, in addition to all the freewill offerings. HNV 7 Also Koresh the king brought forth the vessels of the house of the LORD, which Nevukhadnetztzar had brought forth out of Yerushalayim, and had put in the house of his gods; NIV 7 Moreover, King Cyrus brought out the articles belonging to the temple of the LORD, which Nebuchadnezzar had carried away from Jerusalem and had placed in the temple of his god. HNV 8 even those did Koresh king of Paras bring forth by the hand of Mitredat the treasurer, and numbered them to Sheshbatztzer, the prince of Yehudah. NIV 8 Cyrus king of Persia had them brought by Mithredath the treasurer, who counted them out to Sheshbazzar the prince of Judah. HNV 9 This is the number of them: thirty platters of gold, one thousand platters of silver, twenty-nine knives, NIV 9 This was the inventory: HNV 10 thirty bowls of gold, silver bowls of a second sort four hundred and ten, and other vessels one thousand. NIV 10 gold bowls, 30 matching silver bowls, 410 other articles, 1,000 HNV 11 All the vessels of gold and of silver were five thousand and four hundred. All these did Sheshbatztzer bring up, when they of the captivity were brought up from Bavel to Yerushalayim. NIV 11 In all, there were 5,400 articles of gold and of silver. Sheshbazzar brought all these along with the exiles when they came up from Babylon to Jerusalem.
