1 PABLO, apóstol, (no de los hombres ni por hombre, mas por Jesucristo y por Dios el Padre, que lo resucitó de los muertos),

From Paul--an apostle [chosen] not by any group or individual but by Jesus Christ and God the Father who brought him back to life--
2 Y todos los hermanos que están conmigo, á las iglesias de Galacia:

and all the believers who are with me. To the churches in Galatia.
3 Gracia sea á vosotros, y paz de Dios el Padre, y de nuestro Señor Jesucristo,

Good will and peace from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ are yours!
4 El cual se dió á sí mismo por nuestros pecados para librarnos de este presente siglo malo, conforme á la voluntad de Dios y Padre nuestro;

In order to free us from this present evil world, Christ took the punishment for our sins, because that was what our God and Father wanted.
5 Al cual sea la gloria por siglos de siglos. Amén.

Glory belongs to our God and Father forever! Amen.
6 Estoy maravillado de que tan pronto os hayáis traspasado del que os llamó á la gracia de Cristo, á otro evangelio:

I'm surprised that you're so quickly deserting Christ, who called you in his kindness, to follow a different kind of good news.
7 No que hay otro, sino que hay algunos que os inquietan, y quieren pervertir el evangelio de Cristo.

But what some people are calling good news is not really good news at all. They are confusing you. They want to distort the Good News about Christ.
8 Mas aun si nosotros ó un ángel del cielo os anunciare otro evangelio del que os hemos anunciado, sea anatema.

Whoever tells you good news that is different from the Good News we gave you should be condemned to hell, even if he is one of us or an angel from heaven.
9 Como antes hemos dicho, también ahora decimos otra vez: Si alguno os anunciare otro evangelio del que habéis recibido, sea anatema.

I'm now telling you again what we've told you in the past: If anyone tells you good news that is different from the Good News you received, that person should be condemned to hell.
10 Porque, ¿persuado yo ahora á hombres ó á Dios? ¿ó busco de agradar á hombres? Cierto, que si todavía agradara á los hombres, no sería siervo de Cristo.

Am I saying this now to win the approval of people or God? Am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be Christ's servant.
11 Mas os hago saber, hermanos, que el evangelio que ha sido anunciado por mí, no es según hombre;

I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that the Good News I have spread is not a human message.
12 Pues ni yo lo recibí, ni lo aprendí de hombre, sino por revelación de Jesucristo.

I didn't receive it from any person. I wasn't taught it, but Jesus Christ revealed it to me.
13 Porque ya habéis oído acerca de mi conducta otro tiempo en el Judaismo, que perseguía sobremanera la iglesia de Dios, y la destruía;

You heard about the way I once lived when I followed the Jewish religion. You heard how I violently persecuted God's church and tried to destroy it.
14 Y aprovechaba en el Judaismo sobre muchos de mis iguales en mi nación, siendo muy más celador que todos de las tradiciones de mis padres.

You also heard how I was far ahead of other Jews in my age group in following the Jewish religion. I had become that fanatical for the traditions of my ancestors.
15 Mas cuando plugo á Dios, que me apartó desde el vientre de mi madre, y me llamó por su gracia,

But God, who appointed me before I was born and who called me by his kindness, was pleased
16 Revelar á su Hijo en mí, para que le predicase entre los Gentiles, luego no conferí con carne y sangre;

to show me his Son. He did this so that I would tell people who are not Jewish that his Son is the Good News. When this happened, I didn't talk it over with any other person.
17 Ni fuí á Jerusalem á los que eran apóstoles antes que yo; sino que me fuí á la Arabia, y volví de nuevo á Damasco.

I didn't even go to Jerusalem to see those who were apostles before I was. Instead, I went to Arabia and then came back to Damascus.
18 Depués, pasados tres años, fuí á Jerusalem á ver á Pedro, y estuve con él quince días.

Then, three years later I went to Jerusalem to become personally acquainted with Cephas. I stayed with him for fifteen days.
19 Mas á ningún otro de los apóstoles vi, sino á Jacobo el hermano del Señor.

I didn't see any other apostle. I only saw James, the Lord's brother.
20 Y en esto que os escribo, he aquí delante de Dios, no miento.

(God is my witness that what I'm writing is not a lie.)
21 Después fuí á las partes de Siria y de Cilicia;

Then I went to the regions of Syria and Cilicia.
22 Y no era conocido de vista á las iglesias de Judea, que eran en Cristo;

The churches of Christ in Judea didn't know me personally.
23 Solamente habían oído decir: Aquel que en otro tiempo nos perseguía, ahora anuncia la fe que en otro tiempo destruía.

The only thing they had heard was this: "The man who persecuted us is now spreading the faith that he once tried to destroy."
24 Y glorificaban á Dios en mí.

So they praised God for what had happened to me.
