Galatians 5:1-6

NLT 1 So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law. NIV 1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. NLT 2 Listen! I, Paul, tell you this: If you are counting on circumcision to make you right with God, then Christ will be of no benefit to you. NIV 2 Mark my words! I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no value to you at all. NLT 3 I’ll say it again. If you are trying to find favor with God by being circumcised, you must obey every regulation in the whole law of Moses. NIV 3 Again I declare to every man who lets himself be circumcised that he is obligated to obey the whole law. NLT 4 For if you are trying to make yourselves right with God by keeping the law, you have been cut off from Christ! You have fallen away from God’s grace. NIV 4 You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. NLT 5 But we who live by the Spirit eagerly wait to receive by faith the righteousness God has promised to us. NIV 5 For through the Spirit we eagerly await by faith the righteousness for which we hope. NLT 6 For when we place our faith in Christ Jesus, there is no benefit in being circumcised or being uncircumcised. What is important is faith expressing itself in love. NIV 6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.
