Genesis 24:48-58

HNV

NIV

48 I bowed my head, and worshiped the LORD, and blessed the LORD, the God of my master Avraham, who had led me in the right way to take my master's brother's daughter for his son.
48 and I bowed down and worshiped the LORD. I praised the LORD, the God of my master Abraham, who had led me on the right road to get the granddaughter of my master’s brother for his son.
49 Now if you will deal kindly and truly with my master, tell me. If not, tell me. That I may turn to the right hand, or to the left."
49 Now if you will show kindness and faithfulness to my master, tell me; and if not, tell me, so I may know which way to turn.”
50 Then Lavan and Betu'el answered, "The thing proceeds from the LORD. We can't speak to you bad or good.
50 Laban and Bethuel answered, “This is from the LORD; we can say nothing to you one way or the other.
51 Behold, Rivka is before you, take her, and go, and let her be your master's son's wife, as the LORD has spoken."
51 Here is Rebekah; take her and go, and let her become the wife of your master’s son, as the LORD has directed.”
52 It happened that when Avraham's servant heard their words, he bowed himself down to the eretz to the LORD.
52 When Abraham’s servant heard what they said, he bowed down to the ground before the LORD.
53 The servant brought forth jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and clothing, and gave them to Rivka. He gave also to her brother and to her mother precious things.
53 Then the servant brought out gold and silver jewelry and articles of clothing and gave them to Rebekah; he also gave costly gifts to her brother and to her mother.
54 They ate and drank, he and the men who were with him, and stayed all night. They rose up in the morning, and he said, "Send me away to my master."
54 Then he and the men who were with him ate and drank and spent the night there. When they got up the next morning, he said, “Send me on my way to my master.”
55 Her brother and her mother said, "Let the young lady stay with us a few days, at least ten. After that she will go."
55 But her brother and her mother replied, “Let the young woman remain with us ten days or so; then you may go.”
56 He said to them, "Don't hinder me, seeing the LORD has prospered my way. Send me away that I may go to my master."
56 But he said to them, “Do not detain me, now that the LORD has granted success to my journey. Send me on my way so I may go to my master.”
57 They said, "We will call the young lady, and ask her."
57 Then they said, “Let’s call the young woman and ask her about it.”
58 They called Rivka, and said to her, "Will you go with this man?" She said, "I will go."
58 So they called Rebekah and asked her, “Will you go with this man?” “I will go,” she said.
