Genesis 25:14-24

TMB 14 and Mishma and Dumah and Massa, NIV 14 Mishma, Dumah, Massa, TMB 15 Hadar and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah. NIV 15 Hadad, Tema, Jetur, Naphish and Kedemah. TMB 16 These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their towns and by their castles, twelve princes according to their nations. NIV 16 These were the sons of Ishmael, and these are the names of the twelve tribal rulers according to their settlements and camps. TMB 17 And these are the years of the life of Ishmael, a hundred and thirty and seven years; and he gave up the ghost and died, and was gathered unto his people. NIV 17 Ishmael lived a hundred and thirty-seven years. He breathed his last and died, and he was gathered to his people. TMB 18 And they dwelt from Havilah unto Shur, that is before Egypt as thou goest toward Assyria; and he died in the presence of all his brethren. NIV 18 His descendants settled in the area from Havilah to Shur, near the eastern border of Egypt, as you go toward Ashur. And they lived in hostility toward all the tribes related to them. TMB 19 And these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham's son. Abraham begot Isaac. NIV 19 This is the account of the family line of Abraham’s son Isaac. Abraham became the father of Isaac, TMB 20 And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah for a wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padanaram, the sister of Laban the Syrian. NIV 20 and Isaac was forty years old when he married Rebekah daughter of Bethuel the Aramean from Paddan Aram and sister of Laban the Aramean. TMB 21 And Isaac entreated the LORD for his wife, because she was barren; and the LORD was entreated by him, and Rebekah his wife conceived. NIV 21 Isaac prayed to the LORD on behalf of his wife, because she was childless. The LORD answered his prayer, and his wife Rebekah became pregnant. TMB 22 And the children struggled together within her; and she said, "If it be so, why am I thus?" And she went to inquire of the LORD. NIV 22 The babies jostled each other within her, and she said, “Why is this happening to me?” So she went to inquire of the LORD. TMB 23 And the LORD said unto her, "Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy body; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people, and the elder shall serve the younger." NIV 23 The LORD said to her, “Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples from within you will be separated; one people will be stronger than the other, and the older will serve the younger.” TMB 24 And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb. NIV 24 When the time came for her to give birth, there were twin boys in her womb.
