Hebrews 10:16-30

NLT 16 “This is the new covenant I will make with my people on that day, says the LORD : I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.” NIV 16 “This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.” NLT 17 Then he says, “I will never again remember their sins and lawless deeds.” NIV 17 Then he adds: “Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.” NLT 18 And when sins have been forgiven, there is no need to offer any more sacrifices. NIV 18 And where these have been forgiven, sacrifice for sin is no longer necessary. NLT 19 And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. NIV 19 Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, NLT 20 By his death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place. NIV 20 by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, NLT 21 And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God’s house, NIV 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, NLT 22 let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water. NIV 22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. NLT 23 Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. NIV 23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. NLT 24 Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. NIV 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, NLT 25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. NIV 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. NLT 26 Dear friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins. NIV 26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, NLT 27 There is only the terrible expectation of God’s judgment and the raging fire that will consume his enemies. NIV 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. NLT 28 For anyone who refused to obey the law of Moses was put to death without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. NIV 28 Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. NLT 29 Just think how much worse the punishment will be for those who have trampled on the Son of God, and have treated the blood of the covenant, which made us holy, as if it were common and unholy, and have insulted and disdained the Holy Spirit who brings God’s mercy to us. NIV 29 How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? NLT 30 For we know the one who said, “I will take revenge. I will pay them back.” He also said, “The LORD will judge his own people.” NIV 30 For we know him who said, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” and again, “The Lord will judge his people.”
