Hebrews 2:7-17

KJV 7 Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands: NIV 7 You made them a little lower than the angels; you crowned them with glory and honor KJV 8 Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him. NIV 8 and put everything under their feet.”In putting everything under them, God left nothing that is not subject to them. Yet at present we do not see everything subject to them. KJV 9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. NIV 9 But we do see Jesus, who was made lower than the angels for a little while, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone. KJV 10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. NIV 10 In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what he suffered. KJV 11 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, NIV 11 Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters. KJV 12 Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee. NIV 12 He says, “I will declare your name to my brothers and sisters; in the assembly I will sing your praises.” KJV 13 And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me. NIV 13 And again, “I will put my trust in him.”And again he says, “Here am I, and the children God has given me.” KJV 14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; NIV 14 Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might break the power of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil— KJV 15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. NIV 15 and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death. KJV 16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham. NIV 16 For surely it is not angels he helps, but Abraham’s descendants. KJV 17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people. NIV 17 For this reason he had to be made like them, fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people.
