Hebrews 3

JUB 1 Therefore, brethren, saints, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus, NIV 1 Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest. JUB 2 who was faithful to him that appointed him over all his house, as also Moses was faithful. NIV 2 He was faithful to the one who appointed him, just as Moses was faithful in all God’s house. JUB 3 For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who has built the house has more honour than the house. NIV 3 Jesus has been found worthy of greater honor than Moses, just as the builder of a house has greater honor than the house itself. JUB 4 For every house is built by someone, but he that created all things is God. NIV 4 For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything. JUB 5 And Moses verily was faithful over all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after, NIV 5 “Moses was faithful as a servant in all God’s house,” bearing witness to what would be spoken by God in the future. JUB 6 but Christ as a son over his own house, which house we are, if we hold fast the confidence and the glorious hope firmly until the end. NIV 6 But Christ is faithful as the Son over God’s house. And we are his house, if indeed we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope in which we glory. JUB 7 Therefore, as the Holy Spirit saith, Today if ye will hear his voice, NIV 7 So, as the Holy Spirit says: “Today, if you hear his voice, JUB 8 harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: NIV 8 do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion, during the time of testing in the wilderness, JUB 9 Where your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years. NIV 9 where your ancestors tested and tried me, though for forty years they saw what I did. JUB 10 Therefore, I was indignant with that generation and said, They do always err from their heart, and they have not known my ways. NIV 10 That is why I was angry with that generation; I said, ‘Their hearts are always going astray, and they have not known my ways.’ JUB 11 So I swore in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest. NIV 11 So I declared on oath in my anger, ‘They shall never enter my rest.’ ” JUB 12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unfaithfulness, to depart from the living God. NIV 12 See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. JUB 13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called Today, lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. NIV 13 But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. JUB 14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the end; NIV 14 We have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original conviction firmly to the very end. JUB 15 while it is said, Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation. NIV 15 As has just been said: “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion.” JUB 16 For some of those that came out of Egypt with Moses, when they had heard, did provoke; howbeit not all. NIV 16 Who were they who heard and rebelled? Were they not all those Moses led out of Egypt? JUB 17 But with whom was he indignant forty years? Was it not with those that had sinned, whose carcasses fell in the wilderness? NIV 17 And with whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies perished in the wilderness? JUB 18 And to whom he swore that they should not enter into his rest, but to those that disobeyed? NIV 18 And to whom did God swear that they would never enter his rest if not to those who disobeyed? JUB 19 So we see that they could not enter in because of their unbelief. NIV 19 So we see that they were not able to enter, because of their unbelief.
