1 Esperanza de restauración<br />Hasta el lugar desolado y el desierto estarán contentos en esos días;<br />la tierra baldía se alegrará y florecerá el azafrán de primavera.

2 Así es, habrá abundancia de flores,<br />de cantos y de alegría.<br />Los desiertos se pondrán tan verdes como los montes del Líbano,<br />tan bellos como el monte Carmelo o la llanura de Sarón.<br />Allí el Señor<br /> manifestará su gloria,<br />el esplendor de nuestro Dios.

3 Con esta noticia, fortalezcan a los que tienen cansadas las manos,<br />y animen a los que tienen débiles las rodillas.

4 Digan a los de corazón temeroso:<br />«Sean fuertes y no teman,<br />porque su Dios viene para destruir a sus enemigos;<br />viene para salvarlos».

5 Y cuando él venga, abrirá los ojos de los ciegos<br />y destapará los oídos de los sordos.

6 El cojo saltará como un ciervo,<br />y los que no pueden hablar ¡cantarán de alegría!<br />Brotarán manantiales en el desierto<br />y corrientes regarán la tierra baldía.

7 El suelo reseco se convertirá en laguna<br />y los manantiales de agua saciarán la tierra sedienta.<br />Crecerán las hierbas de pantano, las cañas y los juncos<br />donde antes vivían los chacales del desierto.

8 Un gran camino atravesará esa tierra, antes vacía;<br />se le dará el nombre de Carretera de la Santidad.<br />Los de mente malvada nunca viajarán por ella.<br />Será solamente para quienes anden por los caminos de Dios;<br />los necios nunca andarán por ella.

9 Los leones no acecharán por esa ruta,<br />ni ninguna otra bestia feroz.<br />No habrá ningún otro peligro;<br />solo los redimidos andarán por ella.

10 Regresarán los que han sido rescatados por el Señor<br />;<br />entrarán cantando a Jerusalén,<br />coronados de gozo eterno,<br />estarán llenos de regocijo y de alegría; <br />desaparecerán el luto y la tristeza.

1 The desert and the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice and blossom. Like the crocus,

2 it will burst into bloom; it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, the splendor of Carmel and Sharon; they will see the glory of the LORD, the splendor of our God.

3 Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way;

4 say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.”

5 Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped.

6 Then will the lame leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy. Water will gush forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert.

7 The burning sand will become a pool, the thirsty ground bubbling springs. In the haunts where jackals once lay, grass and reeds and papyrus will grow.

8 And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness; it will be for those who walk on that Way. The unclean will not journey on it; wicked fools will not go about on it.

9 No lion will be there, nor any ravenous beast; they will not be found there. But only the redeemed will walk there,

10 and those the LORD has rescued will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.
