1 Listen to me, you islands; hear this, you distant nations: Before I was born the LORD called me; from my mother’s womb he has spoken my name.

Escúchenme, costas lejanas,oigan esto, naciones distantes:El SEÑOR me llamó antes de que yo naciera,en el vientre de mi madre pronunció mi nombre.
2 He made my mouth like a sharpened sword, in the shadow of his hand he hid me; he made me into a polished arrow and concealed me in his quiver.

Hizo de mi boca una espada afilada,y me escondió en la sombra de su mano;me convirtió en una flecha pulida,y me escondió en su aljaba.
3 He said to me, “You are my servant, Israel, in whom I will display my splendor.”

Me dijo: «Israel, tú eres mi siervo;en ti seré glorificado».
4 But I said, “I have labored in vain; I have spent my strength for nothing at all. Yet what is due me is in the LORD’s hand, and my reward is with my God.”

Y respondí: «En vano he trabajado;he gastado mis fuerzas sin provecho alguno.Pero mi justicia está en manos del SEÑOR;mi recompensa está con mi Dios».
5 And now the LORD says— he who formed me in the womb to be his servant to bring Jacob back to him and gather Israel to himself, for I am honored in the eyes of the LORD and my God has been my strength—

Y ahora dice el SEÑOR,que desde el seno materno me formópara que fuera yo su siervo,para hacer que Jacob se vuelva a él,que Israel se reúna a su alrededor;porque a los ojos del SEÑOR soy digno de honra,y mi Dios ha sido mi fortaleza:
6 he says: “It is too small a thing for you to be my servant to restore the tribes of Jacob and bring back those of Israel I have kept. I will also make you a light for the Gentiles, that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.”

«No es gran cosa que seas mi siervo,ni que restaures a las tribus de Jacob,ni que hagas volver a los de Israel,a quienes he preservado.Yo te pongo ahora como luz para las naciones,a fin de que lleves mi salvaciónhasta los confines de la tierra».
7 This is what the LORD says— the Redeemer and Holy One of Israel— to him who was despised and abhorred by the nation, to the servant of rulers: “Kings will see you and stand up, princes will see and bow down, because of the LORD, who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel, who has chosen you.”

Así dice el SEÑOR,el Redentor y Santo de Israel,al despreciado y aborrecido por las naciones,al siervo de los gobernantes:«Los reyes te verán y se pondrán de pie,los príncipes te verán y se inclinarán,por causa del SEÑOR, el Santo de Israel,que es fiel y te ha escogido».
8 This is what the LORD says: “In the time of my favor I will answer you, and in the day of salvation I will help you; I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people, to restore the land and to reassign its desolate inheritances,

Así dice el SEÑOR:«En el momento propicio te respondí,y en el día de salvación te ayudé.Ahora te guardaré, y haré de tiun pacto para el pueblo,para que restaures el paísy repartas las propiedades asoladas;
9 to say to the captives, ‘Come out,’ and to those in darkness, ‘Be free!’ “They will feed beside the roads and find pasture on every barren hill.

para que digas a los cautivos: “¡Salgan!”,y a los que viven en tinieblas: “¡Están en libertad!”»Junto a los caminos pastarány en todo cerro árido hallarán pastos.
10 They will neither hunger nor thirst, nor will the desert heat or the sun beat down on them. He who has compassion on them will guide them and lead them beside springs of water.

No tendrán hambre ni sed,no los abatirá el sol ni el calor,porque los guiará quien les tiene compasión,y los conducirá junto a manantiales de agua.
11 I will turn all my mountains into roads, and my highways will be raised up.

Convertiré en caminos todas mis montañas,y construiré mis calzadas.
12 See, they will come from afar— some from the north, some from the west, some from the region of Aswan. ”

¡Miren! Ellos vendrán de muy lejos;unos desde el norte, otros desde el oeste,y aun otros desde la región de Asuán».
13 Shout for joy, you heavens; rejoice, you earth; burst into song, you mountains! For the LORD comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones.

Ustedes los cielos, ¡griten de alegría!Tierra, ¡regocíjate!Montañas, ¡prorrumpan en canciones!Porque el SEÑOR consuela a su puebloy tiene compasión de sus pobres.
14 But Zion said, “The LORD has forsaken me, the Lord has forgotten me.”

Pero Sión dijo: «El SEÑOR me ha abandonado;el Señor se ha olvidado de mí».
15 “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!

«¿Puede una madre olvidar a su niño de pecho,y dejar de amar al hijo que ha dado a luz?Aun cuando ella lo olvidara,¡yo no te olvidaré!
16 See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.

Grabada te llevo en las palmas de mis manos;tus muros siempre los tengo presentes.
17 Your children hasten back, and those who laid you waste depart from you.
17
Tus constructores se apresuran;de ti se apartan tus destructoresy los que te asolaron.
18 Lift up your eyes and look around; all your children gather and come to you. As surely as I live,” declares the LORD, “you will wear them all as ornaments; you will put them on, like a bride.

Alza tus ojos, y mira a tu alrededor;todos se reúnen y vienen hacia ti.Tan cierto como que yo vivo,—afirma el SEÑOR—,a todos ellos los usarás como adorno,los lucirás en tu vestido de novia.
19 “Though you were ruined and made desolate and your land laid waste, now you will be too small for your people, and those who devoured you will be far away.

»Aunque te arrasaron y te dejaron en ruinas,y tu tierra quedó asolada,ahora serás demasiado pequeña para tus habitantes,y lejos quedarán los que te devoraban.
20 The children born during your bereavement will yet say in your hearing, ‘This place is too small for us; give us more space to live in.’

Los hijos que dabas por perdidostodavía te dirán al oído:“Este lugar es demasiado pequeño para mí;hazme lugar para poder vivir”.
21 Then you will say in your heart, ‘Who bore me these? I was bereaved and barren; I was exiled and rejected. Who brought these up? I was left all alone, but these—where have they come from?’ ”

Y te pondrás a pensar:“¿Quién me engendró estos hijos?Yo no tenía hijos, era estéril,desterrada y rechazada;pero a estos, ¿quién los ha criado?Me había quedado sola,pero estos, ¿de dónde han salido?”»
22 This is what the Sovereign LORD says: “See, I will beckon to the nations, I will lift up my banner to the peoples; they will bring your sons in their arms and carry your daughters on their hips.

Así dice el SEÑOR omnipotente:«Hacia las naciones alzaré mi mano,hacia los pueblos levantaré mi estandarte.Ellos traerán a tus hijos en sus brazos,y cargarán a tus hijas en sus hombros.
23 Kings will be your foster fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers. They will bow down before you with their faces to the ground; they will lick the dust at your feet. Then you will know that I am the LORD; those who hope in me will not be disappointed.”

Los reyes te adoptarán como hijo,y sus reinas serán tus nodrizas.Se postrarán ante ti rostro en tierra,y lamerán el polvo que tú pises.Sabrás entonces que yo soy el SEÑOR,y que no quedarán avergonzadoslos que en mí confían».
24 Can plunder be taken from warriors, or captives be rescued from the fierce ?

¿Se le puede quitar el botín a los guerreros?¿Puede el cautivo ser rescatado del tirano?
25 But this is what the LORD says: “Yes, captives will be taken from warriors, and plunder retrieved from the fierce; I will contend with those who contend with you, and your children I will save.

Pero así dice el SEÑOR:«Sí, al guerrero se le arrebatará el cautivo,y del tirano se rescatará el botín;contenderé con los que contiendan contigo,y yo mismo salvaré a tus hijos.
26 I will make your oppressors eat their own flesh; they will be drunk on their own blood, as with wine. Then all mankind will know that I, the LORD, am your Savior, your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.”

Haré que tus opresores se coman su propia carney se embriaguen con su propia sangre,como si fuera vino.Toda la humanidad sabrá entoncesque yo, el SEÑOR, soy tu Salvador;que yo, el Poderoso de Jacob, soy tu Redentor».
