Job 25

MSG

WEB

1 Bildad the Shuhite again attacked Job:
1 Then Bildad the Shuhite answered,
2 "God is sovereign, God is fearsome - everything in the cosmos fits and works in his plan.
2 "Dominion and fear are with him; He makes peace in his high places.
3 Can anyone count his angel armies? Is there any place where his light doesn't shine?
3 Can his armies be counted? On whom does his light not arise?
4 How can a mere mortal presume to stand up to God? How can an ordinary person pretend to be guiltless?
4 How then can man be just with God? Or how can he who is born of a woman be clean?
5 Why, even the moon has its flaws, even the stars aren't perfect in God's eyes,
5 Behold, even the moon has no brightness, And the stars are not pure in his sight;
6 So how much less, plain men and women - slugs and maggots by comparison!"
6 How much less man, who is a worm! The son of man, who is a worm!"
