Job 42:1-6

GNTA 1 Then Job answered the Lord. NIV 1 Then Job replied to the LORD: GNTA 2 I know, Lord, that you are all-powerful; that you can do everything you want. NIV 2 “I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted. GNTA 3 You ask how I dare question your wisdom when I am so very ignorant. I talked about things I did not understand, about marvels too great for me to know. NIV 3 You asked, ‘Who is this that obscures my plans without knowledge?’ Surely I spoke of things I did not understand, things too wonderful for me to know. GNTA 4 You told me to listen while you spoke and to try to answer your questions. NIV 4 “You said, ‘Listen now, and I will speak; I will question you, and you shall answer me.’ GNTA 5 In the past I knew only what others had told me, but now I have seen you with my own eyes. NIV 5 My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you. GNTA 6 So I am ashamed of all I have said and repent in dust and ashes. NIV 6 Therefore I despise myself and repent in dust and ashes.”
