John 10:22-42

ESV 22 At that time the Feast of Dedication took place at Jerusalem. It was winter, NIV 22 Then came the Festival of Dedication at Jerusalem. It was winter, ESV 23 and Jesus was walking in the temple, in the colonnade of Solomon. NIV 23 and Jesus was in the temple courts walking in Solomon’s Colonnade. ESV 24 So the Jews gathered around him and said to him, "How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly." NIV 24 The Jews who were there gathered around him, saying, “How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Messiah, tell us plainly.” ESV 25 Jesus answered them, "I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father's name bear witness about me, NIV 25 Jesus answered, “I did tell you, but you do not believe. The works I do in my Father’s name testify about me, ESV 26 but you do not believe because you are not part of my flock. NIV 26 but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. ESV 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. NIV 27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. ESV 28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. NIV 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. ESV 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. NIV 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. ESV 30 I and the Father are one." NIV 30 I and the Father are one.” ESV 31 The Jews picked up stones again to stone him. NIV 31 Again his Jewish opponents picked up stones to stone him, ESV 32 Jesus answered them, "I have shown you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you going to stone me?" NIV 32 but Jesus said to them, “I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?” ESV 33 The Jews answered him, "It is not for a good work that we are going to stone you but for blasphemy, because you, being a man, make yourself God." NIV 33 “We are not stoning you for any good work,” they replied, “but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God.” ESV 34 Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your Law, 'I said, you are gods'? NIV 34 Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your Law, ‘I have said you are “gods” ’? ESV 35 If he called them gods to whom the word of God came--and Scripture cannot be broken-- NIV 35 If he called them ‘gods,’ to whom the word of God came—and Scripture cannot be set aside— ESV 36 o you say of him whom the Father consecrated and sent into the world, 'You are blaspheming,' because I said, 'I am the Son of God'? NIV 36 what about the one whom the Father set apart as his very own and sent into the world? Why then do you accuse me of blasphemy because I said, ‘I am God’s Son’? ESV 37 If I am not doing the works of my Father, then do not believe me; NIV 37 Do not believe me unless I do the works of my Father. ESV 38 but if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me and I am in the Father." NIV 38 But if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.” ESV 39 Again they sought to arrest him, but he escaped from their hands. NIV 39 Again they tried to seize him, but he escaped their grasp. ESV 40 He went away again across the Jordan to the place where John had been baptizing at first, and there he remained. NIV 40 Then Jesus went back across the Jordan to the place where John had been baptizing in the early days. There he stayed, ESV 41 And many came to him. And they said, "John did no sign, but everything that John said about this man was true." NIV 41 and many people came to him. They said, “Though John never performed a sign, all that John said about this man was true.” ESV 42 And many believed in him there. NIV 42 And in that place many believed in Jesus.
