KJV 1 Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end. ESV 1 Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that his hour had come to depart out of this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end. KJV 2 And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him; ESV 2 During supper, when the devil had already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him, KJV 3 Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God; ESV 3 Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he had come from God and was going back to God, KJV 4 He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself. ESV 4 rose from supper. He laid aside his outer garments, and taking a towel, tied it around his waist. KJV 5 After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded. ESV 5 Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him. KJV 6 Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet? ESV 6 He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, "Lord, do you wash my feet?" KJV 7 Jesus answered and said unto him,What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter. ESV 7 Jesus answered him, "What I am doing you do not understand now, but afterward you will understand." KJV 8 Peter saith unto him, Thou shalt never wash my feet. Jesus answered him,If I wash thee not, thou hast no part with me. ESV 8 Peter said to him, "You shall never wash my feet." Jesus answered him, "If I do not wash you, you have no share with me." KJV 9 Simon Peter saith unto him, Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head. ESV 9 Simon Peter said to him, "Lord, not my feet only but also my hands and my head!" KJV 10 Jesus saith to him,He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all. ESV 10 Jesus said to him, "The one who has bathed does not need to wash, except for his feet, but is completely clean. And you are clean, but not every one of you." KJV 11 For he knew who should betray him; therefore said he, Ye are not all clean. ESV 11 For he knew who was to betray him; that was why he said, "Not all of you are clean." KJV 12 So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them,Know ye what I have done to you? ESV 12 When he had washed their feet and put on his outer garments and resumed his place, he said to them, "Do you understand what I have done to you? KJV 13 Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. ESV 13 You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for so I am. KJV 14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. ESV 14 If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. KJV 15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. ESV 15 For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you. KJV 16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. ESV 16 Truly, truly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. KJV 17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them. ESV 17 If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them. KJV 18 I speak not of you all: I know whom I have chosen: but that the scripture may be fulfilled, He that eateth bread with me hath lifted up his heel against me. ESV 18 I am not speaking of all of you; I know whom I have chosen. But the Scripture will be fulfilled,'He who ate my bread has lifted his heel against me.' KJV 19 Now I tell you before it come, that, when it is come to pass, ye may believe that I am he. ESV 19 I am telling you this now, before it takes place, that when it does take place you may believe that I am he. KJV 20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me. ESV 20 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever receives the one I send receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me." KJV 21 When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said,Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me. ESV 21 After saying these things, Jesus was troubled in his spirit, and testified, "Truly, truly, I say to you, one of you will betray me." KJV 22 Then the disciples looked one on another, doubting of whom he spake. ESV 22 The disciples looked at one another, uncertain of whom he spoke. KJV 23 Now there was leaning on Jesus' bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved. ESV 23 One of his disciples, whom Jesus loved, was reclining at table close to Jesus, KJV 24 Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, that he should ask who it should be of whom he spake. ESV 24 so Simon Peter motioned to him to ask Jesus of whom he was speaking. KJV 25 He then lying on Jesus' breast saith unto him, Lord, who is it? ESV 25 So that disciple, leaning back against Jesus, said to him, "Lord, who is it?" KJV 26 Jesus answered,He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon. ESV 26 Jesus answered, "It is he to whom I will give this morsel of bread when I have dipped it." So when he had dipped the morsel, he gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot. KJV 27 And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him,That thou doest, do quickly. ESV 27 Then after he had taken the morsel, Satan entered into him. Jesus said to him, "What you are going to do, do quickly." KJV 28 Now no man at the table knew for what intent he spake this unto him. ESV 28 Now no one at the table knew why he said this to him. KJV 29 For some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said unto him, Buy those things that we have need of against the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor. ESV 29 Some thought that, because Judas had the moneybag, Jesus was telling him, "Buy what we need for the feast," or that he should give something to the poor. KJV 30 He then having received the sop went immediately out: and it was night. ESV 30 So, after receiving the morsel of bread, he immediately went out. And it was night. KJV 31 Therefore, when he was gone out, Jesus said,Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him. ESV 31 When he had gone out, Jesus said, "Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in him. KJV 32 If God be glorified in him, God shall also glorify him in himself, and shall straightway glorify him. ESV 32 If God is glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself, and glorify him at once. KJV 33 Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say to you. ESV 33 Little children, yet a little while I am with you. You will seek me, and just as I said to the Jews, so now I also say to you, 'Where I am going you cannot come.' KJV 34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. ESV 34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. KJV 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. ESV 35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another." KJV 36 Simon Peter said unto him, Lord, whither goest thou? Jesus answered him,Whither I go, thou canst not follow me now; but thou shalt follow me afterwards. ESV 36 Simon Peter said to him, "Lord, where are you going?"Jesus answered him, "Where I am going you cannot follow me now, but you will follow afterward." KJV 37 Peter said unto him, Lord, why cannot I follow thee now? I will lay down my life for thy sake. ESV 37 Peter said to him, "Lord, why can I not follow you now? I will lay down my life for you." KJV 38 Jesus answered him,Wilt thou lay down thy life for my sake? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, The cock shall not crow, till thou hast denied me thrice. ESV 38 Jesus answered, "Will you lay down your life for me? Truly, truly, I say to you, the rooster will not crow till you have denied me three times.

KJV 1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. ESV 1 "Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. KJV 2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. ESV 2 In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? KJV 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. ESV 4 And you know the way to where I am going." KJV 5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? ESV 9 Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'? KJV 10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. ESV 10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works. KJV 11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake. ESV 11 Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else believe on account of the works themselves. KJV 12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. ESV 12 "Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. KJV 13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. ESV 13 Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. KJV 14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. ESV 14 If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it. KJV 15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. ESV 15 "If you love me, you will keep my commandments. ESV 17 even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you. KJV 18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. ESV 18 "I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. KJV 19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. ESV 19 Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. KJV 20 At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. ESV 20 In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. KJV 21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. ESV 21 Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him." KJV 22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? ESV 22 Judas (not Iscariot) said to him, "Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself to us, and not to the world?" KJV 23 Jesus answered and said unto him,If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. ESV 25 "These things I have spoken to you while I am still with you. KJV 26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. KJV 27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. ESV 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. John 15

KJV 1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. ESV 1 "I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. KJV 2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. ESV 2 Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. KJV 3 Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. ESV 3 Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. KJV 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. ESV 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. KJV 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. ESV 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. KJV 6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. ESV 6 If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. KJV 7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. ESV 7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. KJV 8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. ESV 8 By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples. KJV 9 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. ESV 9 As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. KJV 10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love. ESV 10 If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. KJV 11 These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. ESV 11 These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full. KJV 12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. ESV 12 "This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. KJV 13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. ESV 13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. KJV 14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. ESV 14 You are my friends if you do what I command you. KJV 15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. ESV 15 No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. KJV 16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. ESV 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you. KJV 17 These things I command you, that ye love one another. ESV 17 These things I command you, so that you will love one another. KJV 18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. ESV 18 "If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. KJV 19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. ESV 19 If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. KJV 20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. ESV 20 Remember the word that I said to you: 'A servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours. KJV 21 But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me. ESV 21 But all these things they will do to you on account of my name, because they do not know him who sent me. KJV 22 If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin. ESV 22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have been guilty of sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. KJV 23 He that hateth me hateth my Father also. ESV 23 Whoever hates me hates my Father also. KJV 24 If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father. ESV 24 If I had not done among them the works that no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin, but now they have seen and hated both me and my Father. KJV 25 But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause. ESV 25 But the word that is written in their Law must be fulfilled: 'They hated me without a cause.' KJV 26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: ESV 26 "But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me. KJV 27 And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning. ESV 27 And you also will bear witness, because you have been with me from the beginning.

John 16

KJV 1 These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended. ESV 1 "I have said all these things to you to keep you from falling away. KJV 2 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. ESV 2 They will put you out of the synagogues. Indeed, the hour is coming when whoever kills you will think he is offering service to God. KJV 3 And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me. ESV 3 And they will do these things because they have not known the Father, nor me. KJV 4 But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you. ESV 4 But I have said these things to you, that when their hour comes you may remember that I told them to you. "I did not say these things to you from the beginning, because I was with you. KJV 5 But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou? ESV 5 But now I am going to him who sent me, and none of you asks me, 'Where are you going?' KJV 6 But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart. ESV 6 But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. KJV 7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. ESV 7 Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. KJV 8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: ESV 8 And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: KJV 9 Of sin, because they believe not on me; ESV 9 concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; KJV 10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; ESV 10 concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no longer; KJV 11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. ESV 11 concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. KJV 12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. ESV 12 "I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. KJV 13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. ESV 13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. KJV 14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. ESV 14 He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you. KJV 15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you. ESV 15 All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you. KJV 16 A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father. ESV 16 "A little while, and you will see me no longer; and again a little while, and you will see me." KJV 17 Then said some of his disciples among themselves, What is this that he saith unto us,A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again,a little while, and ye shall see me: and,Because I go to the Father? ESV 17 So some of his disciples said to one another, "What is this that he says to us, 'A little while, and you will not see me, and again a little while, and you will see me'; and, 'because I am going to the Father'?" KJV 18 They said therefore, What is this that he saith,A little while? we cannot tell what he saith. ESV 18 So they were saying, "What does he mean by 'a little while'? We do not know what he is talking about." KJV 19 Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them,Do ye enquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me? ESV 19 Jesus knew that they wanted to ask him, so he said to them, "Is this what you are asking yourselves, what I meant by saying, 'A little while and you will not see me, and again a little while and you will see me'? KJV 20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy. ESV 20 Truly, truly, I say to you, you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn into joy. KJV 21 A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world. ESV 21 When a woman is giving birth, she has sorrow because her hour has come, but when she has delivered the baby, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world. KJV 22 And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you. ESV 22 So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you. KJV 23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. ESV 23 In that day you will ask nothing of me. Truly, truly, I say to you, whatever you ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. KJV 24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. ESV 24 Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. KJV 25 These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father. ESV 25 "I have said these things to you in figures of speech. The hour is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figures of speech but will tell you plainly about the Father. KJV 26 At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you: ESV 26 In that day you will ask in my name, and I do not say to you that I will ask the Father on your behalf; KJV 27 For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God. ESV 27 for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God. KJV 28 I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father. ESV 28 I came from the Father and have come into the world, and now I am leaving the world and going to the Father." KJV 29 His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb. ESV 29 His disciples said, "Ah, now you are speaking plainly and not using figurative speech! KJV 30 Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God. ESV 30 Now we know that you know all things and do not need anyone to question you; this is why we believe that you came from God." KJV 31 Jesus answered them,Do ye now believe? ESV 31 Jesus answered them, "Do you now believe? KJV 32 Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me. ESV 32 Behold, the hour is coming, indeed it has come, when you will be scattered, each to his own home, and will leave me alone. Yet I am not alone, for the Father is with me. KJV 33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. ESV 33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world."

John 17

KJV 1 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said,Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: ESV 1 When Jesus had spoken these words, he lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, "Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son that the Son may glorify you, KJV 2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. ESV 2 since you have given him authority over all flesh, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him. KJV 3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. ESV 3 And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. KJV 4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. ESV 4 I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work that you gave me to do. KJV 5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. ESV 5 And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed. KJV 6 I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word. ESV 6 "I have manifested your name to the people whom you gave me out of the world. Yours they were, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word. KJV 7 Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee. ESV 7 Now they know that everything that you have given me is from you. KJV 8 For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me. ESV 8 For I have given them the words that you gave me, and they have received them and have come to know in truth that I came from you; and they have believed that you sent me. KJV 9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine. ESV 9 I am praying for them. I am not praying for the world but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours. KJV 10 And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them. ESV 10 All mine are yours, and yours are mine, and I am glorified in them. KJV 11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. ESV 11 And I am no longer in the world, but they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them in your name, which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are one. KJV 12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled. ESV 12 While I was with them, I kept them in your name, which you have given me. I have guarded them, and not one of them has been lost except the son of destruction, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. KJV 13 And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves. ESV 13 But now I am coming to you, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves. KJV 14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. ESV 14 I have given them your word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. KJV 15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. ESV 15 I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one. KJV 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. ESV 16 They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. KJV 17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. ESV 17 Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. KJV 18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. ESV 18 As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. KJV 19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. ESV 19 And for their sake I consecrate myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth. KJV 20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; ESV 20 "I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, KJV 21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. ESV 21 that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. KJV 22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one: ESV 22 The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, KJV 23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me. ESV 23 I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me. KJV 24 Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. ESV 24 Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world. KJV 25 O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me. ESV 25 O righteous Father, even though the world does not know you, I know you, and these know that you have sent me. KJV 26 And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them. ESV 26 I made known to them your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them."
