John 1:35-42

RHE 35 The next day again John stood and two of his disciples. NIV 35 The next day John was there again with two of his disciples. RHE 36 And beholding Jesus walking, he saith: Behold the Lamb of God. NIV 36 When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, “Look, the Lamb of God!” RHE 37 And the two disciples heard him speak: and they followed Jesus. NIV 37 When the two disciples heard him say this, they followed Jesus. RHE 38 And Jesus turning and seeing them following him, saith to them: What seek you? Who said to him: Rabbi (which is to say, being interpreted, Master), where dwellest thou? NIV 38 Turning around, Jesus saw them following and asked, “What do you want?”They said, “Rabbi” (which means “Teacher”), “where are you staying?” RHE 39 He saith to them: Come and see. They came and saw where he abode: and they stayed with him that day. Now it was about the tenth hour. NIV 39 “Come,” he replied, “and you will see.”So they went and saw where he was staying, and they spent that day with him. It was about four in the afternoon. RHE 40 And Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, was one of the two who had heard of John and followed him. NIV 40 Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of the two who heard what John had said and who had followed Jesus. RHE 41 He findeth first his brother Simon and saith to him: We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ. NIV 41 The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, “We have found the Messiah” (that is, the Christ). RHE 42 And he brought him to Jesus. And Jesus looking upon him, said: Thou art Simon the son of Jona. Thou shalt be called Cephas, which is interpreted Peter. NIV 42 And he brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, “You are Simon son of John. You will be called Cephas” (which, when translated, is Peter ).
