John 5:22-32

NLT 22 In addition, the Father judges no one. Instead, he has given the Son absolute authority to judge, NIV 22 Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son, NLT 23 so that everyone will honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. Anyone who does not honor the Son is certainly not honoring the Father who sent him. NIV 23 that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him. NLT 24 “I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life. NIV 24 “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life. NLT 25 “And I assure you that the time is coming, indeed it’s here now, when the dead will hear my voice—the voice of the Son of God. And those who listen will live. NIV 25 Very truly I tell you, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live. NLT 26 The Father has life in himself, and he has granted that same life-giving power to his Son. NIV 26 For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself. NLT 27 And he has given him authority to judge everyone because he is the Son of Man. NIV 27 And he has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man. NLT 28 Don’t be so surprised! Indeed, the time is coming when all the dead in their graves will hear the voice of God’s Son, NIV 28 “Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice NLT 29 and they will rise again. Those who have done good will rise to experience eternal life, and those who have continued in evil will rise to experience judgment. NIV 29 and come out—those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned. NLT 30 I can do nothing on my own. I judge as God tells me. Therefore, my judgment is just, because I carry out the will of the one who sent me, not my own will. NIV 30 By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me. NLT 31 “If I were to testify on my own behalf, my testimony would not be valid. NIV 31 “If I testify about myself, my testimony is not true. NLT 32 But someone else is also testifying about me, and I assure you that everything he says about me is true. NIV 32 There is another who testifies in my favor, and I know that his testimony about me is true.
