1 And the second lot came forth to Simeon, for the tribe of the sons of Simeon according to their families; and their inheritance was within the inheritance of the sons of Judah.

8 with all the villages that <em>were</em> round about these cities unto Baalathbeer, <em>which is</em> Ramath of the Negev. This <em>is</em> the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Simeon according to their families.

and all the villages around these towns as far as Baalath Beer (Ramah in the Negev). This was the inheritance of the tribe of the Simeonites, according to its clans.
9 Out of the portion of the sons of Judah <em>was taken</em> the inheritance of the sons of Simeon; for the part of the sons of Judah was too much for them; therefore, the sons of Simeon had their inheritance within the inheritance of <em>Judah</em>.

The inheritance of the Simeonites was taken from the share of Judah, because Judah’s portion was more than they needed. So the Simeonites received their inheritance within the territory of Judah.
10 The third lot came up for the sons of Zebulun according to their families, and the border of their inheritance was unto Sarid.

The third lot came up for Zebulun according to its clans: The boundary of their inheritance went as far as Sarid.
11 And their border goes up towards the sea and to Maralah and reaches unto Dabbasheth and <em>from there</em> comes to the river that <em>is</em> before Jokneam,

12 and turning from Sarid eastward toward the sunrising to the border of Chislothtabor and then goes out to Daberath and up to Japhia,

It turned east from Sarid toward the sunrise to the territory of Kisloth Tabor and went on to Daberath and up to Japhia.
13 and from there passes eastward toward the sunrising to Gittahhepher, to Ittahkazin, and goes out to Remmonmethoar around Neah;

Then it continued eastward to Gath Hepher and Eth Kazin; it came out at Rimmon and turned toward Neah.
14 and <em>from here</em> this border turns to the north to Hannathon, coming out in the valley of Jiphthahel

15 and including Kattath, Nahallal, Shimron, Idalah, and Bethlehem: twelve cities with their villages.

24 And the fifth lot came out for the tribe of the sons of Asher according to their families.

27 and turns toward the sunrising to Bethdagon and reaches to Zebulun and to the valley of Jiphthahel to the north, to Bethemek, and to Neiel, and goes out to Cabul on the left hand,

It then turned east toward Beth Dagon, touched Zebulun and the Valley of Iphtah El, and went north to Beth Emek and Neiel, passing Kabul on the left.
28 and includes Abran, {Hebron} Rehob, Hammon, and Kanah, <em>even</em> unto great Zidon;

29 and this border turns <em>from there</em> to Horma {Ramah} and to the strong city of Zor; {Tyre}; and this border turns to Hosah and comes out to the sea from the stronghold of Achzib,

The boundary then turned back toward Ramah and went to the fortified city of Tyre, turned toward Hosah and came out at the Mediterranean Sea in the region of Akzib,
30 including Ummah, Aphek, and Rehob: twenty-two cities with their villages.

34 and turning westward this border goes to Aznothtabor and passes from there to Hukkok and reaches to Zebulun towards the Negev and reaches to Asher on the west side and to Judah upon the Jordan toward the sunrising.

The boundary ran west through Aznoth Tabor and came out at Hukkok. It touched Zebulun on the south, Asher on the west and the Jordan on the east.
35 And the strong cities <em>are</em> Ziddim, Zer, Hammath, Rakkath, Chinnereth,

(When the territory of the Danites was lost to them, they went up and attacked Leshem, took it, put it to the sword and occupied it. They settled in Leshem and named it Dan after their ancestor.)

49 Thus they finished dividing the land in inheritance by their borders, and the sons of Israel gave an inheritance to Joshua the son of Nun in their midst.

When they had finished dividing the land into its allotted portions, the Israelites gave Joshua son of Nun an inheritance among them,
50 According to the word of the LORD they gave him the city which he asked for, <em>which was</em> Timnathserah in mountain of Ephraim; and he rebuilt the city and dwelt therein.

as the LORD had commanded. They gave him the town he asked for—Timnath Serah in the hill country of Ephraim. And he built up the town and settled there.
51 These <em>are</em> the inheritances, which Eleazar the priest and Joshua, the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the sons of Israel, divided for an inheritance by lot in Shiloh before the LORD, at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony. So they finished dividing the land.

These are the territories that Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun and the heads of the tribal clans of Israel assigned by lot at Shiloh in the presence of the LORD at the entrance to the tent of meeting. And so they finished dividing the land.
