1 Mas los hijos de Israel volvieron a hacer lo malo en ojos del SEÑOR, después de la muerte de Aod.

Again the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the LORD, now that Ehud was dead.
2 Y el SEÑOR los vendió en mano de Jabín rey de Canaán, el cual reinó en Hazor; y el capitán de su ejército <I>se llamaba</I> Sísara, y él habitaba en Haroset de los Gentiles.

So the LORD sold them into the hands of Jabin king of Canaan, who reigned in Hazor. Sisera, the commander of his army, was based in Harosheth Haggoyim.
3 Y los hijos de Israel clamaron al SEÑOR, porque aquél tenía novecientos carros herrados; y había afligido en gran manera a los hijos de Israel por veinte años.

Because he had nine hundred chariots fitted with iron and had cruelly oppressed the Israelites for twenty years, they cried to the LORD for help.
4 Y gobernaba en aquel tiempo a Israel <I>una</I> mujer, Débora, profetisa, mujer de Lapidot.

Now Deborah, a prophet, the wife of Lappidoth, was leading Israel at that time.
5 La cual Débora habitaba debajo de <I>una</I> palma entre Ramá y Bet-el, en el monte de Efraín; y los hijos de Israel subían a ella a juicio.

She held court under the Palm of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim, and the Israelites went up to her to have their disputes decided.
6 Y <I>ella</I> envió a llamar a Barac hijo de Abinoam, de Cedes de Neftalí, y le dijo: ¿No te ha mandado el SEÑOR Dios de Israel, <I>diciendo</I> : Ve, y atrae en el monte de Tabor, y toma contigo diez mil hombres de los hijos de Neftalí, y de los hijos de Zabulón;

She sent for Barak son of Abinoam from Kedesh in Naphtali and said to him, “The LORD, the God of Israel, commands you: ‘Go, take with you ten thousand men of Naphtali and Zebulun and lead them up to Mount Tabor.
7 y <I>yo</I> atraeré a ti al arroyo de Cisón a Sísara, capitán del ejército de Jabín, con sus carros y su ejército, y lo entregaré en tus manos?

I will lead Sisera, the commander of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and his troops to the Kishon River and give him into your hands.’ ”
8 Y Barac le respondió: Si <I>tú</I> fueres conmigo, <I>yo</I> iré; pero si no fueres conmigo, no iré.

Barak said to her, “If you go with me, I will go; but if you don’t go with me, I won’t go.”
9 Y <I>ella</I> dijo: Iré contigo; mas no será tu honra en el camino que vas; porque en mano de mujer venderá el SEÑOR a Sísara. Y levantándose Débora fue con Barac a Cedes.

“Certainly I will go with you,” said Deborah. “But because of the course you are taking, the honor will not be yours, for the LORD will deliver Sisera into the hands of a woman.” So Deborah went with Barak to Kedesh.
10 Y juntó Barac a Zabulón y a Neftalí en Cedes, y subió con diez mil hombres de <I>a</I> pie, y Débora subió con él.

There Barak summoned Zebulun and Naphtali, and ten thousand men went up under his command. Deborah also went up with him.
11 Y Heber cineo, de los hijos de Hobab suegro de Moisés, se había apartado de los ceneos, y puesto su tienda hasta el valle de Zaanaim, que <I>está</I> junto a Cedes.

Now Heber the Kenite had left the other Kenites, the descendants of Hobab, Moses’ brother-in-law, and pitched his tent by the great tree in Zaanannim near Kedesh.
12 Vinieron, pues, las nuevas a Sísara como Barac hijo de Abinoam había subido al monte de Tabor.

When they told Sisera that Barak son of Abinoam had gone up to Mount Tabor,
13 Y reunió Sísara todos sus carros, novecientos carros herrados, con todo el pueblo que con él estaba, desde Haroset de los Gentiles hasta el arroyo de Cisón.

Sisera summoned from Harosheth Haggoyim to the Kishon River all his men and his nine hundred chariots fitted with iron.
14 Entonces Débora dijo a Barac: Levántate; porque éste <I>es</I> el día en que el SEÑOR ha de entregar a Sísara en tus manos. ¿No ha salido el SEÑOR delante de ti? Y Barac descendió del monte de Tabor, y diez mil hombres en pos de él.

Then Deborah said to Barak, “Go! This is the day the LORD has given Sisera into your hands. Has not the LORD gone ahead of you?” So Barak went down Mount Tabor, with ten thousand men following him.
15 Y el SEÑOR quebrantó a Sísara, y a todos sus carros y a todo su ejército, a filo de espada delante de Barac; y Sísara descendió del carro, y huyó a pie.

At Barak’s advance, the LORD routed Sisera and all his chariots and army by the sword, and Sisera got down from his chariot and fled on foot.
16 Mas Barac siguió los carros y el ejército hasta Haroset de los Gentiles, y todo el ejército de Sísara cayó a filo de espada hasta no quedar ni uno.

Barak pursued the chariots and army as far as Harosheth Haggoyim, and all Sisera’s troops fell by the sword; not a man was left.
17 Y Sísara se acogió a pie a la tienda de Jael mujer de Heber cineo; porque había paz entre Jabín rey de Hazor y la casa de Heber cineo.

Sisera, meanwhile, fled on foot to the tent of Jael, the wife of Heber the Kenite, because there was an alliance between Jabin king of Hazor and the family of Heber the Kenite.
18 Y saliendo Jael a recibir a Sísara, le dijo: Ven, señor mío, ven a mí, no tengas temor. Y <I>él</I> vino a ella a la tienda, y ella le cubrió con <I>una</I> manta.

Jael went out to meet Sisera and said to him, “Come, my lord, come right in. Don’t be afraid.” So he entered her tent, and she covered him with a blanket.
19 Y él le dijo: Dame a beber ahora un poco de agua, que tengo sed. Y <I>ella</I> abrió un odre de leche y le dio de beber, y le volvió a cubrir.

“I’m thirsty,” he said. “Please give me some water.” She opened a skin of milk, gave him a drink, and covered him up.
20 Y él le dijo: Estáte a la puerta de la tienda, y si alguien viniere, y te preguntare, diciendo: ¿Hay aquí alguno? Tú responderás que no.

“Stand in the doorway of the tent,” he told her. “If someone comes by and asks you, ‘Is anyone in there?’ say ‘No.’ ”
21 Y Jael, mujer de Heber, tomó la estaca de la tienda, y poniendo un mazo en su mano, vino a él calladamente, y le metió la estaca por las sienes, y la enclavó en la tierra, <I>pues</I> él estaba cargado de sueño y cansado; y <I>así</I> murió.

But Jael, Heber’s wife, picked up a tent peg and a hammer and went quietly to him while he lay fast asleep, exhausted. She drove the peg through his temple into the ground, and he died.
22 Y siguiendo Barac a Sísara, Jael salió a recibirlo, y le dijo: Ven, y te mostraré al varón que tú buscas. Y él entró donde ella estaba, y he aquí Sísara yacía muerto con la estaca por la sien.

Just then Barak came by in pursuit of Sisera, and Jael went out to meet him. “Come,” she said, “I will show you the man you’re looking for.” So he went in with her, and there lay Sisera with the tent peg through his temple—dead.
23 Y aquel día sujetó Dios a Jabín, rey de Canaán, delante de los hijos de Israel.

On that day God subdued Jabin king of Canaan before the Israelites.
24 Y la mano de los hijos de Israel comenzó a crecer y a fortificarse contra Jabín rey de Canaán, hasta que lo destruyeron.

And the hand of the Israelites pressed harder and harder against Jabin king of Canaan until they destroyed him.
