WEB 1 Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, NIV 1 The LORD said to Moses, WEB 2 Speak to all the congregation of the children of Israel, and tell them, You shall be holy; for I Yahweh your God am holy. NIV 2 “Speak to the entire assembly of Israel and say to them: ‘Be holy because I, the LORD your God, am holy. WEB 3 You shall fear every man his mother, and his father; and you shall keep my Sabbaths: I am Yahweh your God. NIV 3 “ ‘Each of you must respect your mother and father, and you must observe my Sabbaths. I am the LORD your God. WEB 4 Don't turn to idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I am Yahweh your God. NIV 4 “ ‘Do not turn to idols or make metal gods for yourselves. I am the LORD your God. WEB 5 When you offer a sacrifice of peace-offerings to Yahweh, you shall offer it that you may be accepted. NIV 5 “ ‘When you sacrifice a fellowship offering to the LORD, sacrifice it in such a way that it will be accepted on your behalf. WEB 6 It shall be eaten the same day you offer it, and on the next day: and if anything remain until the third day, it shall be burnt with fire. NIV 6 It shall be eaten on the day you sacrifice it or on the next day; anything left over until the third day must be burned up. WEB 7 If it be eaten at all on the third day, it is an abomination; it shall not be accepted: NIV 7 If any of it is eaten on the third day, it is impure and will not be accepted. WEB 8 but everyone who eats it shall bear his iniquity, because he has profaned the holy thing of Yahweh: and that soul shall be cut off from his people. NIV 8 Whoever eats it will be held responsible because they have desecrated what is holy to the LORD; they must be cut off from their people. WEB 9 When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not wholly reap the corners of your field, neither shall you gather the gleaning of your harvest. NIV 9 “ ‘When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. WEB 10 You shall not glean your vineyard, neither shall you gather the fallen fruit of your vineyard; you shall leave them for the poor and for the sojourner: I am Yahweh your God. NIV 10 Do not go over your vineyard a second time or pick up the grapes that have fallen. Leave them for the poor and the foreigner. I am the LORD your God. WEB 11 You shall not steal; neither shall you deal falsely, nor lie one to another. NIV 11 “ ‘Do not steal. “ ‘Do not lie. “ ‘Do not deceive one another. WEB 12 You shall not swear by my name falsely, and profane the name of your God: I am Yahweh. NIV 12 “ ‘Do not swear falsely by my name and so profane the name of your God. I am the LORD. WEB 13 You shall not oppress your neighbor, nor rob him: the wages of a hired servant shall not remain with you all night until the morning. NIV 13 “ ‘Do not defraud or rob your neighbor. “ ‘Do not hold back the wages of a hired worker overnight. WEB 14 You shall not curse the deaf, nor put a stumbling block before the blind; but you shall fear your God: I am Yahweh. NIV 14 “ ‘Do not curse the deaf or put a stumbling block in front of the blind, but fear your God. I am the LORD. WEB 15 You shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: you shall not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty; but in righteousness shall you judge your neighbor. NIV 15 “ ‘Do not pervert justice; do not show partiality to the poor or favoritism to the great, but judge your neighbor fairly. WEB 16 You shall not go up and down as a talebearer among your people: neither shall you stand against the blood of your neighbor: I am Yahweh. NIV 16 “ ‘Do not go about spreading slander among your people. “ ‘Do not do anything that endangers your neighbor’s life. I am the LORD. WEB 17 You shall not hate your brother in your heart: you shall surely rebuke your neighbor, and not bear sin because of him. NIV 17 “ ‘Do not hate a fellow Israelite in your heart. Rebuke your neighbor frankly so you will not share in their guilt. WEB 18 You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people; but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am Yahweh. NIV 18 “ ‘Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD. WEB 19 You shall keep my statutes. You shall not let your cattle breed with a diverse kind: you shall not sow your field with two kinds of seed: neither shall there come on you a garment of two kinds of stuff mixed together. NIV 19 “ ‘Keep my decrees. “ ‘Do not mate different kinds of animals. “ ‘Do not plant your field with two kinds of seed. “ ‘Do not wear clothing woven of two kinds of material. WEB 20 Whoever lies carnally with a woman, who is a bondmaid, pledged to be married to a husband, and not at all redeemed, nor freedom given her; they shall be punished; they shall not be put to death, because she was not free. NIV 20 “ ‘If a man sleeps with a female slave who is promised to another man but who has not been ransomed or given her freedom, there must be due punishment. Yet they are not to be put to death, because she had not been freed. WEB 21 He shall bring his trespass-offering to Yahweh, to the door of the tent of meeting, even a ram for a trespass-offering. NIV 21 The man, however, must bring a ram to the entrance to the tent of meeting for a guilt offering to the LORD. WEB 22 The priest shall make atonement for him with the ram of the trespass-offering before Yahweh for his sin which he has sinned: and the sin which he has sinned shall be forgiven him. NIV 22 With the ram of the guilt offering the priest is to make atonement for him before the LORD for the sin he has committed, and his sin will be forgiven. WEB 23 When you shall come into the land, and shall have planted all manner of trees for food, then you shall count the fruit of it as their uncircumcision: three years shall they be as uncircumcised to you; it shall not be eaten. NIV 23 “ ‘When you enter the land and plant any kind of fruit tree, regard its fruit as forbidden. For three years you are to consider it forbidden ; it must not be eaten. WEB 24 But in the fourth year all the fruit of it shall be holy, for giving praise to Yahweh. NIV 24 In the fourth year all its fruit will be holy, an offering of praise to the LORD. WEB 25 In the fifth year shall you eat of the fruit of it, that it may yield to you the increase of it: I am Yahweh your God. NIV 25 But in the fifth year you may eat its fruit. In this way your harvest will be increased. I am the LORD your God. WEB 26 You shall not eat anything with the blood: neither shall you use enchantments, nor practice sorcery. NIV 26 “ ‘Do not eat any meat with the blood still in it. “ ‘Do not practice divination or seek omens. WEB 27 You shall not cut the hair on the sides of your heads, neither shall you clip off the edge of your beard. NIV 27 “ ‘Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard. WEB 28 You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks on you: I am Yahweh. NIV 28 “ ‘Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD. WEB 29 Don't profane your daughter, to make her a prostitute; lest the land fall to prostitution, and the land become full of wickedness. NIV 29 “ ‘Do not degrade your daughter by making her a prostitute, or the land will turn to prostitution and be filled with wickedness. WEB 30 You shall keep my Sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary; I am Yahweh. NIV 30 “ ‘Observe my Sabbaths and have reverence for my sanctuary. I am the LORD. WEB 31 Don't turn to those who have familiar spirits, nor to the wizards; don't seek them out, to be defiled by them: I am Yahweh your God. NIV 31 “ ‘Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the LORD your God. WEB 32 You shall rise up before the gray head, and honor the face of the old man, and you shall fear your God: I am Yahweh. NIV 32 “ ‘Stand up in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and revere your God. I am the LORD. WEB 33 If a stranger sojourn with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. NIV 33 “ ‘When a foreigner resides among you in your land, do not mistreat them. WEB 34 The stranger who sojourns with you shall be to you as the home-born among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt: I am Yahweh your God. NIV 34 The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God. WEB 35 You shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in measures of length, of weight, or of quantity. NIV 35 “ ‘Do not use dishonest standards when measuring length, weight or quantity. WEB 36 Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall you have: I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt. NIV 36 Use honest scales and honest weights, an honest ephah and an honest hin. I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt. WEB 37 You shall observe all my statutes, and all my ordinances, and do them: I am Yahweh. NIV 37 “ ‘Keep all my decrees and all my laws and follow them. I am the LORD.’ ”
