KJV 9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. NIV 9 “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. KJV 10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. NIV 10 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. KJV 11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? NIV 11 “Which of you fathers, if your son asks fora fish, will give him a snake instead? KJV 12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? NIV 12 Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? KJV 13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? NIV 13 If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”
