Luke 19:27-37

NLT 27 And as for these enemies of mine who didn’t want me to be their king—bring them in and execute them right here in front of me.’” NIV 27 But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them—bring them here and kill them in front of me.’ ” NLT 28 After telling this story, Jesus went on toward Jerusalem, walking ahead of his disciples. NIV 28 After Jesus had said this, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem. NLT 29 As he came to the towns of Bethphage and Bethany on the Mount of Olives, he sent two disciples ahead. NIV 29 As he approached Bethphage and Bethany at the hill called the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples, saying to them, NLT 30 “Go into that village over there,” he told them. “As you enter it, you will see a young donkey tied there that no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. NIV 30 “Go to the village ahead of you, and as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. NLT 31 If anyone asks, ‘Why are you untying that colt?’ just say, ‘The Lord needs it.’” NIV 31 If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ say, ‘The Lord needs it.’ ” NLT 32 So they went and found the colt, just as Jesus had said. NIV 32 Those who were sent ahead went and found it just as he had told them. NLT 33 And sure enough, as they were untying it, the owners asked them, “Why are you untying that colt?” NIV 33 As they were untying the colt, its owners asked them, “Why are you untying the colt?” NLT 34 And the disciples simply replied, “The Lord needs it.” NIV 34 They replied, “The Lord needs it.” NLT 35 So they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their garments over it for him to ride on. NIV 35 They brought it to Jesus, threw their cloaks on the colt and put Jesus on it. NLT 36 As he rode along, the crowds spread out their garments on the road ahead of him. NIV 36 As he went along, people spread their cloaks on the road. NLT 37 When he reached the place where the road started down the Mount of Olives, all of his followers began to shout and sing as they walked along, praising God for all the wonderful miracles they had seen. NIV 37 When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen:
