Luke 19:28-40

CEB 28 After Jesus said this, he continued on ahead, going up to Jerusalem. NIV 28 After Jesus had said this, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem. CEB 29 As Jesus came to Bethphage and Bethany on the Mount of Olives, he gave two disciples a task. NIV 29 As he approached Bethphage and Bethany at the hill called the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples, saying to them, CEB 30 He said, "Go into the village over there. When you enter it, you will find tied up there a colt that no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. NIV 30 “Go to the village ahead of you, and as you enter it, you will find a colt tied there, which no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here. CEB 31 If someone asks, ‘Why are you untying it?' just say, ‘Its master needs it.'" NIV 31 If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ say, ‘The Lord needs it.’ ” CEB 32 Those who had been sent found it exactly as he had said. NIV 32 Those who were sent ahead went and found it just as he had told them. CEB 33 As they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, "Why are you untying the colt?" NIV 33 As they were untying the colt, its owners asked them, “Why are you untying the colt?” CEB 34 They replied, "Its master needs it." NIV 34 They replied, “The Lord needs it.” CEB 35 They brought it to Jesus, threw their clothes on the colt, and lifted Jesus onto it. NIV 35 They brought it to Jesus, threw their cloaks on the colt and put Jesus on it. CEB 36 As Jesus rode along, they spread their clothes on the road. NIV 36 As he went along, people spread their cloaks on the road. CEB 37 As Jesus approached the road leading down from the Mount of Olives, the whole throng of his disciples began rejoicing. They praised God with a loud voice because of all the mighty things they had seen. NIV 37 When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen: CEB 38 They said, "Blessings on the king who comes in the name of the Lord. Peace in heaven and glory in the highest heavens." NIV 38 “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!”“Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” CEB 39 Some of the Pharisees from the crowd said to Jesus, "Teacher, scold your disciples! Tell them to stop!" NIV 39 Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!” CEB 40 He answered, "I tell you, if they were silent, the stones would shout." NIV 40 “I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.”
