Luke 7:18-30

NKJV 18 Then the disciples of John reported to him concerning all these things. NIV 18 John’s disciples told him about all these things. Calling two of them, NKJV 19 And John, calling two of his disciples to him, sent them to Jesus, saying, "Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?" NIV 19 he sent them to the Lord to ask, “Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?” NKJV 20 When the men had come to Him, they said, "John the Baptist has sent us to You, saying, 'Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?' " NIV 20 When the men came to Jesus, they said, “John the Baptist sent us to you to ask, ‘Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?’ ” NKJV 21 And that very hour He cured many of infirmities, afflictions, and evil spirits; and to many blind He gave sight. NIV 21 At that very time Jesus cured many who had diseases, sicknesses and evil spirits, and gave sight to many who were blind. NKJV 22 Jesus answered and said to them, "Go and tell John the things you have seen and heard: that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the gospel preached to them. NIV 22 So he replied to the messengers, “Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosyare cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor. NKJV 23 And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me." NIV 23 Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me.” NKJV 24 When the messengers of John had departed, He began to speak to the multitudes concerning John: "What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind? NIV 24 After John’s messengers left, Jesus began to speak to the crowd about John: “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed swayed by the wind? NKJV 25 But what did you go out to see? A man clothed in soft garments? Indeed those who are gorgeously appareled and live in luxury are in kings' courts. NIV 25 If not, what did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes? No, those who wear expensive clothes and indulge in luxury are in palaces. NKJV 26 But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I say to you, and more than a prophet. NIV 26 But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet. NKJV 27 This is he of whom it is written: 'Behold, I send My messenger before Your face, Who will prepare Your way before You.' NIV 27 This is the one about whom it is written: “ ‘I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you.’ NKJV 28 For I say to you, among those born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he." NIV 28 I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.” NKJV 29 And when all the people heard Him, even the tax collectors justified God, having been baptized with the baptism of John. NIV 29 (All the people, even the tax collectors, when they heard Jesus’ words, acknowledged that God’s way was right, because they had been baptized by John. NKJV 30 But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the will of God for themselves, not having been baptized by him. NIV 30 But the Pharisees and the experts in the law rejected God’s purpose for themselves, because they had not been baptized by John.)
