Mark 4:35-41

GNT 35 On the evening of that same day Jesus said to his disciples, "Let us go across to the other side of the lake." NIV 35 That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” GNT 36 So they left the crowd; the disciples got into the boat in which Jesus was already sitting, and they took him with them. Other boats were there too. NIV 36 Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. GNT 37 Suddenly a strong wind blew up, and the waves began to spill over into the boat, so that it was about to fill with water. NIV 37 A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. GNT 38 Jesus was in the back of the boat, sleeping with his head on a pillow. The disciples woke him up and said, "Teacher, don't you care that we are about to die?" NIV 38 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?” GNT 39 Jesus stood up and commanded the wind, "Be quiet!" and he said to the waves, "Be still!" The wind died down, and there was a great calm. NIV 39 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. GNT 40 Then Jesus said to his disciples, "Why are you frightened? Do you still have no faith?" NIV 40 He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” GNT 41 But they were terribly afraid and began to say to one another, "Who is this man? Even the wind and the waves obey him!" NIV 41 They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”
