NRS 24 From there he set out and went away to the region of Tyre. He entered a house and did not want anyone to know he was there. Yet he could not escape notice, NIV 24 Jesus left that place and went to the vicinity of Tyre. He entered a house and did not want anyone to know it; yet he could not keep his presence secret. NRS 25 but a woman whose little daughter had an unclean spirit immediately heard about him, and she came and bowed down at his feet. NIV 25 In fact, as soon as she heard about him, a woman whose little daughter was possessed by an impure spirit came and fell at his feet. NRS 26 Now the woman was a Gentile, of Syrophoenician origin. She begged him to cast the demon out of her daughter. NIV 26 The woman was a Greek, born in Syrian Phoenicia. She begged Jesus to drive the demon out of her daughter. NRS 27 He said to her, "Let the children be fed first, for it is not fair to take the children's food and throw it to the dogs." NIV 27 “First let the children eat all they want,” he told her, “for it is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.” NRS 28 But she answered him, "Sir, even the dogs under the table eat the children's crumbs." NIV 28 “Lord,” she replied, “even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.” NRS 29 Then he said to her, "For saying that, you may go—the demon has left your daughter." NIV 29 Then he told her, “For such a reply, you may go; the demon has left your daughter.” NRS 30 So she went home, found the child lying on the bed, and the demon gone. NIV 30 She went home and found her child lying on the bed, and the demon gone.
